Weekend Rewrap Up

Nothing to terribly exciting happened this weekend. Friday night we went to a play at a local community theater. I already blogged about that.

Saturday, I slept really late. I don't think I even got moving until close to noon. (Which means, I woke up, but watched TV in bed for a while) Getting up at noon really makes the day go fast. My husband worked until 4pm and I did some cleaning while he was gone. When he got home we made pizzas and watched some 20/20 on TLC and then a movie on comedy central called "Extract". It had Jason Batemand, Kristen Wigg, Ben Affleck, and several other people you would know of.

Today is just football for my husband and some scapbooking for me.

This coming up week so far is pretty mellow. Currently, I only work Friday, but this will change I know. What is everyone else up to this week?

MIL Drama

Well, it has been a pretty busy day:  Work, went to see a play ("My Fair Lady"), and then arrived home with a snotty message from my mother in law on my facebook page.  Well, to make a long story short her husband died (I did blog about this so you might remember it) and she is throwing a benefit for herself.  The benefit is tomorrow, however, my husband has to work and he can't get out of it so I RSVPed that we wouldn't make it and she was not happy and wrote that under my facebook reply to the benefit page.  I really am not too worried about it.  We really never talk, she NEVER calls her son (my husband of course), is not too concerned about seeing us on holidays, and in the decade I have been with her son has never wished me a happy birthday.  So we really were not that close.  If the benefit was because she was sick or something we would probably go, but her husband has already been passed over a month and he had life insurance and health insurance.  So, basically we choose not to fight for this day off for my husband when he needs to work because a certain project needs to be done at a certain time for a client.  So, I guess it is what it is?

"My Fair Lady" was good.  It was a local community theater so the acting really was not that great, but still entertaining.  My husband did not like it.  He did say it was the worse play I have dragged him to.  I am not surprised...the subject matter really wasn't his taste.  I kind of knew that going in, lol.

I am really glad this week is over.  Between work and the computer drama I do need a little rest.  Actually, my house needs some tending to.  Tomorrow will probably be a music turned loud, pony-tail, cleaning day.  I also have some other odds and ends to get to.

Can I have a ride out of stress city

Oh My Goodness! I have been in computer hell for the past few days. My computer crashed and I lost everything!!! So I had to a new computer. So that was hell number one. Which one to buy? I had no idea. I didn't have anyone to ask. So basically I did as much research online (with my ipad...thank goodness I had that) and drove to 'Best Buy' with the hope I got a good sales associate who could answer all questions. So on a good note, I did receive a great sales associate (those are hard to find!) Thanks Calvin!!! However they were under staffed so he had to hop from person to person, but he helped me pick out a good computer in my price range. I feel very confidant that I understand what I bought.
So new computer bought-check
Step 2-getting data transfered over from old computer. I took my new laptop and old desktop to the geek squad at best buy. I asked them to transfer data. They took my old tower in the back room...they came out 3 minutes later and said the hard drive and mother board was fried and there was nothing they could do about it. So,,,,,,,,yeah
So here is what I lost at first: photos, music, and detailed address book of everyone I know.
Thank goodness I don't run a buisness from my computer or am I in college. I really only do fun stuff with my computer: facebook, blogs, twitter, pictures, email.
So now I had to start from scratch. Good news about that: I still had all my itunes purchased music on my ipod and ipad...so I looked at the apple website and found a way to transfer purchases. I was successful with that!!!!!!!! I have my music back. Well, all itunes purchased music back. Any music I put on with cds I owned did not transfer. But they are still on ipod and ipad and I of course still have them on cds. So basically there is about 150 songs different between my computer and ipod/ipad.
Pictures-lost them all from computer. However, I still go to the store and print all pictures all the time. I have a hard copy 4x6 picture for every picture I ever took (remember my posts about organizing this summer?) Also, I have many of them on CD (not all of CD but ALL in hard copy form).
Address-About a year ago I printed out all my addresses and phone numbers in hard copy paper form...so I have the info, just not on the computer anymore.
Everything else I lost is really no big deal. I lost this little personal journal I wrote to myself only in word many years ago, but it was probably only half a months worth of entries. I also started a story awhile back, but I only got about 5 pages done...and it was bad anyways.
So yeah, that has been my beginning of this week.
I am taking tomorrow off. I have 4 things ordered and I also track my orders through ups or fedex and according to my tracking I am suppose to have 3 of the four things delivered tomorrow and one of those things is very expensive so I want to be home to get those...I also need to grocery shop. Do to my mom's surprise visit I didn't get a chance to go and we need it to avoid more take-out. So basically, I am not working tomorrow. I do however work Thursday and Friday.
I am done with computer stress!!!!!!!!!!

Weekend wrap-up

This was a weekend roller coaster for sure! Up and down, up and down! Friday, I was hoping to have a quiet 'date night' at home....takeout and a DVD. However, at the last minute my aunt had quite a water leaking emergency so she called me to have my husband go over to fix it. He worked really late, then had to go to my aunt's which is about 30 mins away. So after all that he came home late and tired, so it was basically bed.

Saturday my husband worked in the morning and then went hunting in the afternoon. I helped a friend on a photoshoot and ran errands.

Sunday, I was planning on sleeping in, but I got a surprise phone from my mom at 8am that she was in my state, my mom lives really far away and I didn't know she was going to be in my state this weekend, so she called and said she was going to be at my house in 4hrs. So I got up, did a quick home clean-up, showered, got really, and did a whole bunch of little things. She came and we went shopping. We actually picked out my Christmas present which may said weird, but because she lives so far away, we usually shop for Christmas presents sometime in the Fall when she is in town. She usually is in town in October-ish because both her and my birthday are in October. She got me a 12-cup kitchen aid food processor. Since I got it in brushed nickel we had to order it, so it should arrive at my house in about a week. I will wrap it and wait until Christmas to use it...for a $300 food processor, I can wait for Christmas. I know it is pricey but I already have the kitchen aid brushed nickel blender and mixer, so now everything is durable and matches. I has bought myself some more bath and body works candle, my fav, and we went to 'Sweet CeeCees' which is a fro-yo place in my city. I also got a whirley-pop...google it, it is cool. Sunday night we ate dinner together and watched football.

Today, we went and saw "Isles of March'. Mmmmmm-Ryan am I right? We then went out to dinner.

Now the bad news. My computer died so now I have to get a new one. I believe I will get a laptop this time. What should I get?

"Wicked"

Bucket List: CHECK!

Last night I finally got to do something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I went and saw:

It was so good! I am so happy that I got to see it. One of the best things about it was that my husband was really tired last night and went into it was a so-so attitude. But, on the drive home he couldn't stop talking about it. It was just so fun to see him love it to. It was so well written and so well performed! It was just plain fun.

If you ever have the opportunity to go.....GO!

Weekend recap

Very busy, but wonderful weekend! I miss it!

Friday we went on a date night, however, my husband worked late and he needed his hunting license for the very next morning so in order to kill two birds with one stone we went to Bass Pro Shop. That way we could get the license, dinner, and browsing in. Nothing too fabulous and I really didn't like their food, but hanging with the hubby was fun as always.

Saturday, my husband went hunting while I slept in. We then had a 1st birthday party of my friends son to go to. The party was an hour away, so it took a lot of the day to drive there and back.
After that we rested for a second and then went to the theater to see a play. It was called "Over the River and Through the Woods". Then we went out to eat at a restaurant called Perkins. Do you have Perkins near you?

Sunday, the hubby hunted again in the morning only. He brought back doughnuts and we watched football for the rest of the afternoon.

That really about sums up my weekend. How was yours?

Random

We are having a heat wave. It is weird to have my Fall decorations up and 87 degrees outside with a/c on.

Date night tonight. Dinner and shopping. However, that shopping is at Bass Pro Shop due to the fact my husband needs to get his hunting license. I bet I will find something I want.

I am having a good time redecorating my guest room. Now I just need a guest. My mom will be in town soon, but she will come with her husband so they stay in a hotel when he is with her.

I have a really busy weekend ahead. Date night tonight, my friend's son's 1st birthday tomorrow afternoon, Phantom of the Opera musical Saturday night, and a matinee play "Over the River and Through the Woods" on Sunday. Lots of entertainment this weekend.

Right now I am cleaning and watching a little TV. Laundry is also going.

Have a good weekend!

Feeling Crafty

-
I found this old window at a garage sale for $6. I used it as a picture frame. I framed the pics with scrapbook paper first.

Blurb Book

Recently my brothers, husband, and I got some professional pics done. I then took those pics and made a blurb book out of them. I just received it fed-ex...it was not what I thought it was going to be.

It is very flimsy! I thought it would be better.

Finish Line

Here was my Summer project. It took about a month longer than I thought. However, ALL my pictures are organized and I know exactly where everything is at and I have room to grow. Photo organization is a nightmare. My advice is, "stay on top of it as events happen and you develop them......Don't let them pile up!"

-
Do you still get photos developed or do you just save them to your computer? I get everything developed. There is nothing like holding a picture in your hand or flipping through an album. I hope photo developing places never go out of business!

If you do develop, how do you organize? Boxes? Bags? Specific photo organizers like me?

Fall Decorating

Just finished up doing a little cleaning and decorating for Fall....here are a few of my decorations:

Too many 'M'? I think not...hehehehe

Sorry for the creepy eyes. I was watching 'Swift Justice'

- I will probably add some Halloween decor about Oct. 20th or so and Thanksgiving stuff after Halloween.

Can I see your decorations? :)
