Please let me vent a little......ok a lot

I actually just got inspired from someone else's blog for a post.....it is something I have been thinking about for the past two years and something that has been confusing me. I am not sure if the person who gave me the idea wants to be mentioned so I won't just in case, but I am sure she can figure it out since I left her a comment that is similar:

I am a substitute teacher. When I first graduated college I tried to get a teaching job the first two school years out of college. After not getting a job for two years I then decided that I had to get a full time job doing something else outside of my degree so I did. In that time I got engaged and then married. Before we got married I told my husband that I really want to be a stay at home mom and he said he totally supported me in eventually doing so. I was engaged for 14 months before the wedding (planning time) and during this time the job I worked at made me very unhappy to the point where I would be crying on the drive home and sad at night. I really wanted to quit, but because of my wedding and because I lived on my own I really needed the full time money. I think the fact that I had an amazing wedding to look forward and a fiancee that I loved made this time bearable. I even told him I wanted to quit and we talked about it and he said after the wedding and honeymoon I could quit and start subbing. After a few years of marriage and buying a house (which we did 2 months after the wedding) we were going to start trying for a baby and the plan was for me to coast along subbing and then be a stay at home mom at the right time. I did not tell anyone of the plan. Well last August we started trying to have a baby (and followers of my blog know that I stopped trying jan, feb, and march of this year because I didn't want to have a baby in oct, nov, and dec....I have already talked about this) So basically sept, oct, nov, dec '09 and april and may of '10 so that is only 5 months of trying and for someone who was on the pill as long as I was I am not shocked I did not get pregnant in the last part of '09. (we started so late in Aug that I am not even going to count it because I was past my fertile time...that is just the month I stopped taking pills.)

Anyways,

What I am getting at is the fact that I had last summer 100% off and I have this summer 100% off. When people talk to me about my summers I get really rude comments and dirty looks because I have summers off.....these are the comments I get: "Don't you get bored?" "Why don't you find a part-time job in the summer?" "Is your husband OK with that?" "What do you do?" etc etc. My parents are the worst (they are divorced) my mom keeps telling me to get a part time job and my dad keeps sending me job openings. I wish they would stop. In high school I made my own money and never once asked them for money....I have lived on my own since I was 19 and have NEVER asked them for money....NEVER. I have never been late on a payment.....never been late on a bill.....my credit is wonderful......I am talking my bills have 100% been paid on time every time....and I have never borrowed from a friend or family member...I even (well my husband and I) paid for most of our wedding our self (my wedding is the ONE time I had a little money from my parents and that is all)

My friends are upset about it to and make me feel bad. They can't believe I don't work in the summer. I don't want to get a classroom just to quit........

Why do people care and make me feel bad? My husband is ok with it and all our bills are paid. Also my college loans are set up to be a 10 year loan and I am projected (if I keep the over payments I am making now) to be paid off in Oct.....that means only 5 years....I am going to pay off a 10 year loan in 5 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My car was a 5 year loan I paid off in 2.5 years.

None of my friends and family members can say they have never been late or missed a payment and paid off loans so earlier..........but people are so weirded out and upset because I have summers off....

oh and another thing is because of how much my husband makes and my income added to his....if I make much more we will be in a higher tax bracket so we would pay more for taxes.

Why do people care so much and I want the comments and looks to stop!!!

Also, people are not too shy to ask me to pick them up at the airport or have deliveries that need signed delivered to my house or other odds and ends that need to be done in the daytime.

Oh. one more thing. I have had a job since I was 15 earlier if you count babysitting. I worked full time in high school and college and still played varsity sports in high school....many of the friends who have given me grief did not have a job in high school or college and their parents paid their tuition.

My Bro is a Star! (not really )

My Little Brother was on the front cover of today's paper in my city. Front-top-and centered in color. The funniest part is the title reads
"Danger Rising on River"
and then there was a pic of my brother
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The article was really about how we have received so much rain lately that the river is raising and flooding some areas. (there has been flash flood warnings)
I was actually with him that day....I just hopped off the back to go pay for the gas. I am so glad I was not in the pic because I had a life jacket on and and really ugly baseball hat and of course no make-up.
Here is the pic:

Welcome Summer Break

Well I am officially on Summer break now...so excited! I am starting to make some fun plans.
I do have this weekend panned out and it is going to be a busy one.
Friday, my friend and I are going strawberry picking at this local farm. Saturday, I am hosting a SATC 2 party at my house and then we are all going to see the movie of course.
Sunday we have a 30th birthday party to attend.
As of right now, I have no Memorial Day plans. It is possible that my husband will work that day.
I am not sure if I told my blog yet, but this past month I purchased one of those ovulation kits and according to the kit I ovulated like clockwork (by this I mean 14 days before my next anticipated period....my periods come like clockwork also) It was positive for two days exactly. It should be a good sign. I am taking my prenatal vitamins just in case. I also bought a boatload of fruits and veggies at the grocery store. (I really need to kick the sugar though....haven't done that yet)

I decided to start watching LOST. I have officially watched the entire 1st season....I should be starting the 2nd season soon.

Today I also watched "Dear John" I wasn't too impressed....it was ok. I am glad I made the decision to watch it by myself while my husband was at work, because he would of hated it.

What not to sell......

A few friends and I went to a few garage sales today and we came up with a list of....
"Things not to sell at a garage sale":

-used shower loofahs (sp?-those sponge type things that you use in the shower with liquid body wash)
-bras/underwear
-expired food products (I don't care if it is in it's original package...it is expired)
-3/4 empty bottle of lotions
-candles that have been burnt for long periods of time (also IMO any candles that have been burnt at all)
-notebooks that have been written in
-broken glassware (there was this white glass ornate bowl with a handle and the handle was broke clean off)
-books that you price more than what the suggested retail price states on the book to begin with
-I personally don't like nasty looking shoes (shoes is one thing I will always insist on buying new....the one exception might be little baby shoes)

-anybody else have anything to add

On a side note...I bought some "OneADay" prenatal vitamins just in case.....I read that it is recommended that you take prenatal vitamins at least 4 months before you actually try and since we have been trying I thought I better get one that. (Probably should of been taking them for a while now)

On anther side note-My town just started this new entertainment thing that is suppose to model like a "Bourbon Street" type thing....where one street in downtown is shut down Mon-Sat from 6 pm to midnight and restaurants can bring table out on the street and there is live music and artists, etc, etc...the hubby and I ate at one of the restaurants tonight....the weather was so amazing....I could camp out tonight and probably have the best nights sleep....it was so fun.

Crash

Do you want to know one way that your perfectly great day can come to a crashing hault? Logging on to Facebook at 9:30 at night and finding out your cousin who is 7 years younger than you are is pregnant and you are not.

(I am very happy for her.......just wish it was me.......it is weird because I should be first)

Waiting

Why does waiting for the UPS man make the day seem so long?

Has anyone seen that show called "Baggage" on GSN hosted by Jerry Springer? It is hilarious!!! Watch it if you catch it!

I have to get a cap for my broken tooth! It totally sucks and really expensive....glad I have insurance to pay for a little of it. (Wished it paid all of it!) I have never had one before.

Ahh!!!!

My tooth broke today....I have never had that happen before.....the dentist can't see me until tomorrow at 4:00.

It has been a crazy week......well last Friday we decided to splurge and bought a new TV....47inch flat panel LCD....our other TV was about to go out.....the sound was humming and cracking and the picture was getting bad.....well, when it rains it pours...right after my TV went out and we bought another one, my computer gets a virus and I had to take it in to get fixed (expensive week!!!!) I sorta just wanted to get a whole new computer and if it wasn't for the TV I would of....we are planning on get a new laptop (we will just have two computers) right we school starts up again in the Fall and my income will come again (I get the whole summer off)

Any suggestions on Laptops? I actually have one in mind, but I want to hear opinions before I reveal that....because I am sure it will be a post in its own when the time comes.

Dog Tags

One fun thing about having a brother for a Marine is that he makes real 'dog tags' for my dog's collar......he types really funny things into them. They always have my name, number, and address, but they also have things like 'occupation: guard dog' or something like that (my dog is so not a guard dog unless he can snuggle you to death?) The tag always jiggles right also side of his rabies tag....so I tell him that it is just like putting a bell around his neck..poor guy-he can never be sneaky!

Dad's B-Day Party

Apparently no one likes Tiffany Jewelry anymore???? I still love it...it is timeless and it will last forever....I didn't have a single comment on my previous post. If you guys don't like Tiffany & Co....then what type of jewelry do you like?

My husband and I hosted a little cook-out for my dad's 54th birthday and here are a few pics.

A really bad pic of my older brother.

My little brother. (They are both single....anyone want me to set them up?)

He is acting really goofy in this pic.....he is not always like this hahaha

I love how Huckleberry is so interested in the food on my table....hahaha

What a way to start the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I woke up yesterday morning with this package sitting on my front porch!!!

I already opened them and I can't tie the white bow like they do.

Basically I wanted to start a Tiffany's charm braclet, so this order I got the bracelet itself and 3 charms. A crown, a little circle that has my initial on it, and a heart 'if found return to Tiffany's' charm

I plan on getting three more in June and three more in August, three in October, and three in December....hopefully by Christmas I will have a good looking full charm bracelet!

I Can't Wait for Summer Vacation

School is winding down and I can't wait for summer vacation. It will be hard since the money will stop and my bank account will go down, but I am still excited for the time off. I really am not in an annoyed mood, but I have come up with several things that annoy me from conversations I had with people, conversations/status on facebook, and things I read on blogs today:

1. People who pierce little babies ears....why? why? why? does this need to be done.....seriously, if someone has a 'pro' stance on piercing an 10 month old babies ears I want to hear it, because I can not think of one benefit to it......I got my ears pierced at 13.

2. This one is from Nicole at Flipflops and Combat boots that I am stealing. Why does Walmart have a million check-out lanes, but only open 3 of them?

3. My dog when he steps on my bare feet with his claws....owe Huck, that really hurts momma!

4. Thinking I have everything for a recipe and then as I am cooking it....I realize that I forgot to buy one thing!!!! This also happened last Sunday when I was baking cupcakes...I needed 3 eggs and when I went to the fridge I had 2 eggs!

5. People who don't use their turn signal-HELLO! I can't read your mind and I don't know where you are headed.....can we please try to avoid an accident by taking the minimal effort and time to click the turn signal!!!!

6. Late people...this should actually be number one.

Creepy

My town has a twice a year 'junk week' (Spring and Fall) Basically what it is is that the town comes around on your scheduled garage day (Tuesdays for us) and will pick up large pieces of junk that it normally doesn't pick up any other week of garage day. (couches, dressers, carpet, broken bar stools, etc, etc, etc) We are allowed to set out junk the weekend before (today and yesterday)....so we did. We had an old entertainment center (that was actually left in the house when we bought it) that we had in our basement that we have been using as shelves basically, some cardboard boxes, really old clothes that a thift store wouldn't want, etc etc.

Well the funny thing is, the weekend before junk week and all through out junk week...junk people drive around in rusty pick-up trucks and sift through your garbage and look for things they want before the city trucks come and pick it up.

It is actually really funny to see what they take and what they all ready have in their trucks.

We ripped out a really old shower surround in our basement that we never use and it was kinda gross and set it out there.

Well I just looked out the window and there were these two people out there hammering away at it at the end of my driveway. They took the chrome covered plastic off of the shower door and drove off with it. Why? It is not aluminum or copper (which is worth ALOT) They always have the strangest things in the back of their rusty pickups? It is really fun to watch them.
