Day 14 - Your earliest memory.

Before I start with this blog challenge....I just wanted to talk about my weekend and the big snow storm coming our way. Last night was really fun (Saturday) My little brother bought our family (me hubby, other brother, dad, and grandparetns) a steak dinner and we had a blast at the restaurant. After dinner, my hubby and I got some supplies for cocktails and we came back to our house and played pool and darts, got the ipod blasting, and had some wonderful cocktail. I slept very well last night!

We are suppose to be getting a huge snow storm this week. It is suppose to start Monday evening and continuing until Wednesday.

Day 12 - Bullet your whole day.

Day 12 - Bullet your whole day.

I am going to do a day in 'some pictures' post. Also, since I worked today my day would say got up, ate breakfast, got ready, went to work, came home, made dinner, watched t.v., went to bed and that sounds dull. So, I am bulleting yesterday since I had the day off:

  • Got up and gave this guy a his morning hug

(he was already fed and watered by my husband who left for work hours ago)

  • ate breakfast while checking facebook, blogger, emails, and bank accounts
  • brushed my teeth

  • watched part of the TODAY show
  • got my work-out clothes
  • went to the gym
  • came home and showered and put make-up on to run into the city

(This is the guest room, but I set my make-up table up in there)
  • rewatched another episode of MADMEN (I have watched this series several times. I own all the seasons I can-next one comes out in March I believe)

  • take dog out
  • get a text from hubby's accountant because there was an typo on bill (we are in the carpentry business...our 'time card' is called a 'bill')
  • pull up excel and fixed small typo

  • Go to the city to refill my printer ink cartridges
  • go to jewelery store next door just to look since I drove to the city anyways (If I only have one real errand, I will window shop for the heck of it)
  • go to home store next to jewelery store since they are going out of business and everything is half off, buy a calendar and recipe book for half off
  • met brother for coffee (well hot chocolate for me since I hate coffee) at Starbucks after his class lets out
  • Come home
  • take dog out
  • clean a little: light dusting, sweep floors, clean bathroom vanity sink, and a few other small things
  • check mail
  • read a little (I finished this book and started "The Glass Castle" today at work)

  • Prepare dinner so that it is ready to be put in oven when it is time

  • Watch Dr. Phil and Oprah

  • Put dinner in oven and tidy kitchen a little
  • take dog out
  • talk with a neighbor
  • feed dog
  • get phone call (I had several others through the day, but this is a friend and we chat for a long time)
  • check internet stuff again
  • hubby comes home and we eat dinner
  • dinner clean-up
  • phone calls
  • watch TV and another episode of MadMen
  • get another phone call but this one is from a friend who is planning a wedding and knows that I have a best friend who is in the wedding rental business so she asks me questions
  • Call said friend in wedding business for first friend
  • call a third friend to talk about first friends wedding
  • TV and hang out with hubby
  • eat a piece of cookies and cream pie
  • take dog out
  • get ready for bed
  • go to bed
  • watch Jimmy Fallon (I love him)
  • sleep

Well is is about it...I am sure I left out a few things.

Day 10 - Discuss your first love and first kiss.

Day 10 - Discuss your first love and first kiss.

Well, first love and first kiss are with different people.

First kiss was with a neighbor boy when I was twelve...I think we both just want to know what it was like.

First 'what I thought was love' love was with a high school boy friend. Now looking back it was pretty pathetic. He was always so nervous, so it was just stressful to be around. Even after lots of time past it was just as uncomfortable. I think I thought it was love because he liked me so much, but I just didn't feel the same.

First real love was with my husband. I have been with him since I was 20.

He is so comfortable to be around
-I can crack any joke
-My heart still flutters when my phone rings and it is him on the other end
-I don't care if I make a mistake
-we can go a long time without talking and feel 100% comfortable
-I really value his life more than my own
-I love to just look at him
-I love to just touch him

Hey, I can fart in front of him....that is true love.

Day 8 - A moment you felt the most satisfied with your life.

Day 8 - A moment you felt the most satisfied with your life.

This might be too easy. But I would probably say my wedding day. I have never felt so right about anything in my life, seriously. I can't even pick a dressing for my salad and feel like I made the right decision, but I could with a husband. I wasn't nervous at all because I knew I made the correct decision. I felt so calm and prepared. I got married at 25 which is what I feel like was the perfect age, not too young and not too old. I felt great. Not only was it a 'moment' I felt satisfied, but I still feel satisfied!

Graduating with honors from college would probably be second.

Day 7-Your zodiac sign

I am a Scorpio and I do believe I am my sign.

I believe I am loyal, passionate, likes to be in control, sometimes jealous.

The following is copied from the internet and I agree with a lot of it:

Scorpio Astrology October 23 - November 21

Scorpio Strength Keywords:

- Loyal
- Passionate
- Resourceful
- Observant
- Dynamic

Scorpio Weakness Keywords:

- Jealous
- Obsessive
- Suspicious
- Manipulative
- Unyielding

Scorpio and Independence:

Scorpios are fiercely independent. They are able to accomplish anything they put their mind to and they won't give up. They are perfectly suited to being on their own. They are not social butterflies like some other zodiac signs and some actually prefer to live on their own that way there is never any issue of who controls what at home, they like to be in control.

Scorpio and Friendship:

Relationships with Scorpio are always complicated, just like the person, their relationships are a series of extremes, they can even be downright moody for no apparent reason. Scorpios are known for their possessiveness and jealousy but on the other hand, they are extremely loyal. Scorpios have an excellent memory and combined with an inability to let things go, they can hold a grudge against someone who did them harm forever, in fact a Scorpio rarely if never forgives and forgets. They will even go as far as get vengeance on the person. On the other hand, they will always remember a kind gesture forever and repay it. Any kind selfless gesture done to a Scorpio will gain trust and respect which is extremely important to them in any relationship, either romantic or not. The best advice is to be honest with a Scorpio friend and in return, you will gain an amazing friend you will never forget and who will be loyal to you and never make false promises. Their truthful and shocking sense of humor if different than that of any other zodiac sign and the Scorpio makes an amazing, powerful interesting friend that can be trusted.

Scorpio and Business:

Scorpios make excellent doctors, surgeons, scientists and leaders, they are perfectly suited to any form of business that makes a difference in the world, greatly impacts people and society and a most importantly, Scorpio has to be in a power position, this is why these careers are suited to the Scorpio, they all demand one person in supreme control giving orders and leading a unit of people/practices. In business, Scorpios tend to easily gather wealth, they make very wise business decisions and they are very conservative about spending their money. Scorpios are known for making money and hiding it, they will not announce it due to to fear that others will take the same route and becoming a possible competitor, or worse try to use the Scorpio to their advantage to use them for their money.

Scorpio and Temperament:

Scorpios are extremely ambitious, persistent and determined which is shown through a power hungry, controlling attitude. Not in a stubborn sense however, because a Scorpio will work for what they want and control will justified reasons. This is obvious to any onlooker. A Scorpio never gives up, they are so determined to reach their goal. The key to this success is their flexibility. They are able to re-survey a situation and take a different approach if necessary. This makes them very adaptable and versatile. Scorpios are fierce competitors, combined with their powers of observation and their excellent memory, they will recall facts and when necessary, bring them to the table at the time of need. They will win justly, with proper facts and arguments to support their thoughts and opinions. Scorpios are excellent at restoring order to a chaotic situation and they are just as capable of manipulating for their own greed and benefit. The un-evolved Scorpio is a very dangerous person because they use their powers to benefit only them and step on other people in order to satisfy their own greed.

Scorpio Deep Inside:

Scorpio is the most misunderstood of all astrology signs. They are all about intensity and contradictions. They like to be aware of a situation and always know what's going on, figuring this out with their probing mind, on the other hand, they are interested in the occult, the paranormal, conspiracy theories and other types of similar unknown mysteries. They are very capable of hiding their true feelings and motivations, they often have ulterior motives or a hidden agenda.
Scorpios are all about control, they need to be in control at all times. To be out of control is very threatening, even dangerous to the Scorpio's psyche, when they control, they feel safe.
Scorpios are very emotional, their emotions are intensified, both good emotions and bad. Negative emotions of jealousy and resentment are hallmarks of this turbulent astrology sign. On the other side, Scorpios are well known for their forceful and powerful drive to succeed and their amazing dedication. Scorpios are constantly trying to understand their emotions through finding a deeper purpose in life.
Scorpios are very intuitive, but not as in a psychic sense, more as intuitive into the human mind, they have a great understanding of the mystery and the power of the human mind.
Scorpios have a fear of failure which they keep hidden extremely well, should their confrontation not be successful, or their career fail, they will simply use their adaptive skill to quickly move and and leave the bad experience behind. Do not ever expect them to fess up or share their tale with anyone however because this shows signs of weakness and Scorpio always wins, they are always the self-proclaimed best! One of the reasons they seem like they always accomplish their goals is because they set tangible short-term goals that they know they can accomplish, they know what they are capable of and this is what they go for.
Scorpios are very weary about trusting anyone, a person needs to gain their trust and this gets built up over time and once all the 'trust tests' have been passed, Scorpio loves deeply and intensely. Underneath the cool exterior, energies and emotions are constantly flowing but the Scorpio deals with this be channeling this into useful activities, hobbies, relationships or a career. This is never apparent to the outside observer but knowing this fact explains why Scorpios are so passionate about whatever it is that they are undertaking. Scorpios have powerful instincts and they trust their own gut feeling which is another reason why a Scorpio seldom fails.
The ongoing lesson in life for those born under the Scorpio zodiac signs, is to channel their powerful energy into positive goals and not succumbing to the darker forces in life such as manipulation and greed, they will then have great success in their life and have a clean, happy conscience and a circle of friends they can trust and hold dear to them.

Scorpio in a Nutshell:

Scorpio is the astrology sign of extremes and intensity. Scorpios are very deep, intense people, there is always more then meets the eye. They present a cool, detached and unemotional air to the world yet lying underneath is tremendous power, extreme strength, intense passion and a strong will and a persistent drive. Scorpios have a very penetrative mind, do not be surprised if they ask questions, they are trying to delve deeper and figure things out and survey the situation. They always want to know why, where and any other possible detail they can possibly know. Scorpio's are very weary of the games that other people try to play and they are very aware of it. Scorpios tend to dominate and control anyone that lets them, or anyone that they find weak. The person that a Scorpio respects and holds close to them is treated with amazing kindness, loyalty and generosity. On the outside, a Scorpio has great secretiveness and mystery. This magnetically draws people to them. They are known to be controlling and too ambitious but only because they need control for this makes them feel safe.

Day 4 - A DIY tutorial or something you'd like to make.

Well, I might just be lazy today, but I don't think I have enough readers to do a step by step, photo DIY project on here, so I am just going to list a few things I would like to make:

sew a dress for myself (I would actually love to make a wedding dress for someone, but I don't see this ever happening)

decorate a 3-4 layer cake really well

grow a wonderful vegetable garden

make a quilt

make perfect bedding for a crib

Day 3

Day 3-Your views on drugs and alcohol?

I am very against drugs...I don't do them, but I do know people who do. They are very addicting and make people do stupid stuff.

Alcohol on the other hand, I am a fan of a good cocktail. I really like trying new drinks and mixing drinks. I like to go out on a Friday night with friends to watch a band and have a few drinks. I really hate how queasy I feel when I get drunk and the next day sucks, so I don't ever drink too much. My husband and I made an agreement last year that we would take turns being the DD every time there is an event that involves alcohol. Most of you might roll your eyes and tell me I am horrible after I tell you that the DD is allowed 2 drinks. We are over 21 and my state has a .08 limit so 2 drinks is our DD limit.

So if it is my turn not to drive he is allowed 2 drinks and vice versa.

Sorry for those of you out there that think a true DD is zero drinks.

So far this system is working for us. When I am the DD I try to have my 2 drinks very early and quit so that I am safe to drive.

Also, I never do, but I think it is ok for someone to have a glass of wine in the evening. I don't because I don't want to spend the money on that much wine, I would be the only one drinking from the bottle (my husband doesn't like wine), and I just don't feel like it. But, if someone had a glass of wine in the evening, that would be ok. I have had nights where I couldn't sleep so I poured myself a glass of wine to help. This has happened maybe 4 times in my whole life because I sometimes use tylenol pm to sleep and even this is VERY rare.

When I host a party at my house I will sometimes have a signature drink for the evening. I also love a good margarita on a hot summer evening.

So basically if you can control it, I do like alcohol. If I were to guess a average (again depending on the month and events of the month) I probably have a drink maybe two to three times in a month. (some months I have zero, some more)

I really am happy that my husband can control his drinking. He only drinks out with friends. He never has a drink by himself at home. Several years ago we bought a twelve pack of beer because we had friends over to watch football. I believe 3 beers were drank and that twelve pack sat in our fridge for years. I believe we still have beers left from that day in the garage fridge.

So, if you are an adult, can handle the responsibility than I think that a drink is ok.

Monday, January 17, 2011

Day 2

Day 2-Where you would like to be in ten years?

Well this one is easy....I would like to be the mother of a 9 year old AND a 4 or 5ish year old! I would like to be in a new home, a 'forever home', that is just perfect! (maybe with some land). Also, be sitting next to my wonderful hubby!

That really is it.....I don't have much more to elaborate on because that is the full answer.

However, a trip to Hawaii wouldn't be bad....but the baby is more important.

Anyone every seen one because I hardly ever go to Walmart. I have one scentsey warmer but I want one or two more and I don't want to pay $30 for one.

Wild Night

Yesterday I went to a wedding of a cousin of mine. (a male cousin) Well, my aunt (his mom) is fairly wealthy and she also likes to party. The brides mother is opposite...a baptist women. The brides mother wanted a dry reception, but the thing is...she did not pay for the wedding...my aunt did. However the bride (who is pregnant with her second child so can't drink anyways) basically told her fiancee (my cousin) that she needs a dry reception for her mothers wishes. So my cousin told his mom that it was going to be a dry reception. She was quite upset since she was paying for everything....so she decided to plan a 2nd reception with alcohol....but the bride and groom did not attend the second reception...hehehe

So the wedding was really short and the first reception was only like an hour and a half.....but then we went to this bar and we had a blast!!! I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long time.

And, I don't feel hungover at all today and I should because I drank a lot!!!! I even got 3 drinks down my grandma....I bet she slept good last night!!! hahaha

I just never went to a wedding reception where the bride and groom did not attend....

my mom once went to a bridal shower that the bride did not attend though....

New Years Eve Wrap Up

We really had a low key NYE for the first time ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got snacks and watched TV and that was it.

We did do something fun for New Years Day. We went and watched the polar plunge. That was hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The boat club had 400 people sign up to plunge...crazy. The funny costumes were the best.

After that, we went to a bar with my dad and brothers and had a few drinks. Then my husband and I went and got something to eat. We rented a movie ("Barry Munday" horrible-don't rent it) and watch that and went to bed.

Now it is football Sunday. Bears vs Packers is the game of the season in my home because I like the BEARS and the hubby loves the PACKERS. I made some vegetable soup and brownies for the game.

(I actually made the mocha brownies from the Pioneer Women's cookbook and I have to say that she let me down on this one. I don't really like them. The recipe said to bake in an 8x8 square pan and I think a bigger pan ((thinner brownie)) might be better. I can't believe she let me down on that one because I love every other recipe I ever tried of hers...the frosting is the best part of it)
