Sorry

Sorry it has been so long since I posted. I actually have been working a lot this week AND I joined curves. So I have been working, then excersing, then dinner, and finally all the new shows on TV.

I got a whole bunch of new clothes this week: cardigan, work-out clothes, etc.

Well, I do have things to do right now. I just wanted to stop in and let everyone know that I am alive and well.

Also, I have something I do need to get off my chest and I can't discuss it with my family, so maybe my blog is the way to go. However, I need more time to prepare the post so I might do it after work tomorrow since we are going to get take-out (no dinner prep or dishes or early bedtime)

Weekend Recap

Had such a fun weekend (and technically it isn't over yet). Friday evening we did a little resting! Saturday we went to my dad's for a hot dog roast and chili dinner (it was suppose to be a bonfire, but it was raining really hard so we had to cook inside.) My grandma gave me the cutest cameo pin! I mean crazy beautiful!!!!!!! I love jewelery. Today I went to church and then got some new clothes. I think I need one pair of dressy professional pants and I should be good for awhile. I have a gift card to kohls, so I will go Wednesday and try to find dressy pants. I also got some pictures developed so I can do a little scrapbooking whenever the mood hits me.

Is anyone going to watch Sister Wives on TLC tonight?

I work tomorrow, but so far that is the only day I have scheduled for this week. (I do hope I get at least another day or two after how much I spent on clothes today.)

New Seasons

I thought it was a fun night of tv last night. Community, The Office, Sh*t My Dad Says (I just read the book last week), Outsourced, and The Real Housewives of DC. I also heard that on Ace of Cakes there was a little something from when Duff was in my town (I heard it was only like 30 secs...blink and you miss it thing).

I am headed out today to get some mums for my planters. I also might decorate for fall later.

Tag, I'm it!

I just got tagged by Sincerely Shannon. I am suppose to answer 8 of her questions and then tag 8 people with 8 NEW questions. Here goes:

1. Do you like Starbucks? And are you a fan of their seasonal coffees (aka. pumpkin spice latte)?
I do like Starbucks. But, I am not a fan of their seasonal coffees. First off, I only order Caramel Macciado (sp?) and White Chocolate mochas. Second, I don't have one really convenient to any where I go so I don't get one often. (The closest one probably takes me 20 minutes to get to due to stoplights and traffic...usually only go if I am in that area for something else). Finally, this is probably a good thing since the two drinks I like are full of calories.
2. How do you decorate and prepare for fall?
I do decorate for fall and then later for Halloween (my birthday!) Here are somethings I do every year to prepare:
apple picking
get several pumpkins
plant mums
make chili
make apple pie
my friends always have bonfire parties!

3. Will you participate in your college's homecoming activities?
I might....I did last year
4. What is your favorite fall clothing item or accessory?
jeans/hooded sweatshirts
5. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
hula girl or Care Bear
6. Do you like halloween/horror movies? Do you have a favorite?
I love Halloween...it is my birthday....I usually watch a horror movie as I wait for trick or treaters
7. What is your favorite fall activity? (College football games, Costume parties, Trick or treating, carving pumpkins, haunted houses, apple picking, etc)
Probably apple picking or trick or treating (of course I am on the handing out candy side)
8. What is your favorite fall recipe?
chili, cinnamon rolls, or apple pie

I tag-
1. Schluter
2. Mrs. Southern Belle
3. Our Journey from Iraq to the Alter
4. Southern Cinderella
5. The Bailey Bunch
6. Star Spangled Stockings
7. Any new reader
8. Any new reader

Here are my questions:
1. If you could have any career other than the one you have what would it be?
2. Post a pic of the best picture you ever took.
3. If you were named something other than your name, what would you want it to be?
4. What would your last meal be?
5. What one song reminds you of a life moment? (name song and life moment of course)
6. Post a pic of your senior prom dress
7. Any vacations coming up?
8. What if the most dangerous thing you ever did?

My husband's Surprise Bday Party

Ok, my husband doesn't turn 30 until Wednesday, September 22nd, but we had a surprise party last night.
It was held at our friends house in the country.

This picture just uploaded first on the picture list. It was his gift. It is a Bosch Jigsaw if anyone is curious. (a power tool)

The two girls in the pictures are our friends daughters. This is them waiting for the party to begin.

His cake. It is suppose to be camo. He is a deer hunter.

This is the moment he came around the corner and saw all of us. He actually came straight from work and he worked 11 hours that day. So if you see saw dust, sweat, or a frazzled look, that is why. Nothing a few beers and good friends can't fix.

The next couple of pictures are friends of ours.

My younger brother.

My older brother.

He was surprised. I actually pulled it off. He had a great time and thanked me for the party.

Hahahaha

Did anyone notice how my last post just kind of trailed off? That is because my husband walked into the room while I was typing it and I didn't want him to read over my shoulder since the surprise is for him. hahahaha Just wondering if anyone noticed that it just STOPPED.

Surprise

I am throwing a surprise 30th bday party for my husband on Saturday. This has been a lot of work!!!!! His birthday is actually Tuesday the 22nd, but of course you need a weekend day.

The party will be held at our friends Kevin and Paula's house. We regularly hang out at their house so getting him there isn't that hard. I just told him that "We are going to go to Kevin and Paula's house this Saturday and have a bonfire." (which is a typical thing we do) Little does he know there are going to be 25 other people there and it will be his party. Right now there is a 40 percent chance of rain which will really suck because they do not have a big house and I need the people (mostly the men) to hang out outside. They have an attached garage, so that will help.

I am keeping the menu simple. Dip, veggies tray, deviled eggs, etc. The best part is going to be the cake (hopefully) I am putting all my hopes on the bakery. It is suppose to be a camo-deer hunting cake, so we will see how that turns out. I actually am picking it up tomorrow at 10, so I am excited!

The only bad part is he plans to be working in the town that the party is being held at (he is currently working a little weekend side job). But the party doesn't start until 7:00 because Kevin will work until 5:30 and I want him to have time to drive home, clean-up, unwind, and start the bonfire. So I to

Real Quick

I am just leaving a quick blog post. I am tired and need to go to bed (I work tomorrow).

My husband and I went and saw "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" (side note: We actually have a 'Putnam Country' sorta close to us, but anyways) It was so funny. My stomach muscles hurt from laughing. I would recommend it!!!!

I still need to tell you about the surprise party I am throwing on Saturday....and I will do that tomorrow...good night.

Puffy

I am feeling so puffy today. My rings don't even fit.

Any hoo-

Worked a 1/2 day today and it was a great day until the last 20 mins. My kids bus was 20 mins late picking up the kids. You might think "Big deal 20 mins late", but-no- I had to have all 17 (two combined classes) of pre-k special needs kids lined up ON the sidewalk at 3:05 on the dot-backpacks on. So 17 pre-k special needs kids outside on the sidewalk, by the road, 20 mins, 4 going one way, 3 going the other, 2 on the ground, 2 trying to eat dirt, etc, etc....it might as well been 20 hours. I sent my assistant in to call the bus barn because I needed to know how long. Trust me, it is a lot different in the classroom than on the sidewalk. (and since they had their backpacks, and walked them outside to the bus spot, they knew they were going home which made it worse).

Oh, and also, earlier during outside time I had one boy take a face plant into the ground from the monkey bars....that was freakin' fantastic *sarcasm*

Other than that, I had a pretty simple day:

did a little banking $$$$
did a little TV
did a little leftover warm-up
did a little cuddling with the pup
did a little jacuzzi bath
did a little at home facial
did a little toe nail polish
did a little cookie eating

I still haven't told you about the surprise birthday party I am throwing on Saturday....I will do that tomorrow. Good night

American Pickers

First off-Picture overload
Second off-If you have not seen the TV show you might not know what I am talking about.

My friend and I went to the shop of the Mike from "American Pickers" today.

The picture below is the place we ate. This was the first place we went to since we rolled into town about noon. The funny story here is that this is basically a bar with a short menu for the 'grill' part of it. My friend and I were the only people sitting at the tables eating. There were a few (maybe 4-5) men at the bar and everything was pretty quiet. Well while we were talking at our table I over heard the people at the bar talking about tatoos. The only bartender (who was also our waitress) said "My sister Danielle ( and then touched her upper chest area and then continued talking about Danielle's tattoos)" Some of you might know where I am going with this. I then looked more closely at this lady and she looked just like Danielle from the show "Amer. Pickers" So my waitress at the bar and grill was Danielle's sister. Later when we went to the store I talked to Danielle (and got an autograph and a picture with her) and I asked if her sister worked at the Riverview Bar and Grill and she did. How weird?

Some pics of the town.

This is my friend. She is 8 months pregnant. I also have my pic by this car, but I look 14 months pregnant in the pic and I am not pregnant at all. So I didn't post it.

This is Danielle below and this is some guy I don't know. Again I do have my pic with her, but I do not like the way I look so I didn't post it.

I saw the episode with this suit

I saw the episode with these lights.

I saw the episode with this gas tank.

I saw the episode with this fridge.

My friend making business calls.

And a little refreshment before we left. This does not help with my looking 14 months prego.

It was really fun. The town also has tons of other shops to look around in. I just bought a t-shirt from American Pickers and a little pear decoration for my kitchen (from a different store)

Mike and Frank were not there. Danielle said they are on the road 3 out of the 4 weeks in a month.

What annoys you?

This post was sparked by a conversation with a friend. This was all in good fun, I am not annoyed or in a bad mood. We just listed for fun all the things that annoy us and here is my list:

*people who are LATE!!!!!!
*people (singers) who try to put their own 'spin' on the National Anthem, please sing it as written, don't hold notes longer, etc it is not your song, it is our song
*This next one you have to know two things first 1. I am a substitute teacher and 2. I get this question 6,000 times a week....Do not ask me the following question: "How many days a week do you work?" Have some common sense people! I work when I am called, it depends....every single week is different....I can not tell you how many times I get that question....I work anywhere from 0-5 days a week....don't people now that, especially my family and friends?
*when my husband leaves lights on or the TV running
*looking at used Q-tips in the bathroom garbage
*thinking there is a parking space open and then getting closer and seeing that there is a cart right smack dab in the middle of the spot
*people who rev their cars or motorcycles after 11:00 pm
*when every TV show has a commercial at the same time
*People asking me when we are having a baby (I have not told anybody that we are trying, so they don't know that I can't...I am not ready to tell yet-I am also talking about when people asked me this before we started trying and before I knew I can't easily get pregnant)
*adults who wear obvious and stupid pj pants in public....I am not saying a clean pair of sweatpants to run to the gas station for a drink....I am saying a grown women wearing "Tweety" pants or hello kitty pants
*people who don't use turn signals
*going into a public bathroom stall and not having a hook to hang my purse on available I HATE SETTING IT ON THE FLOOR

What annoys you?

Ok, my turn, What I like about Fall

Since EVERYONE else is doing it, my turn. (I do enjoy reading what others like about Fall)

Let me first start out with a confession.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT FALL

Please please no hate mail, y' all will be shocked at what I am about to say, ok here goes....

I HATE THE SMELL OF FALL SCENTED CANDLES
PUMPKIN-EWE
SPICE-BLACH
LEAVES-ICK
BASICALLY ALL FALL SCENTED CANDLES I DO NOT LIKE

I know, I know, calm down, I realize that every other women in the world loves them, that is all I hear about, but I hate them.....(If you are curious I also hate all candle scents that smell like food, for example, chocolate((I love the smell of real chocolate but not fake scented imitation chocolate)) sugar cookie, pie, etc the only exception is maybe fruit because I like apple ((if you consider that a Fall scent then that is the one scent I like...not 'cider' but Macintosh Apple or something like that)) or grape, or strawberry. The scents I like are flowers or clean smelling candles.

My current favorite is a scent called Moonlight Path from bath and body works ( I can't find a pic online right now? Weird?)

BTW-Bath and Body Works have the best candle, way better than Yankee...these candles actually burn correctly (level all the way down and completely liquidfied (sp?) and they are not sooty

Ok, now WHAT I LOVE ABOUT FALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cool temperatures
my BIRTHDAY
my husband's birthday
football
chili
bonfires
leaves changing colors
a crispness in the air
fall clothes (jeans/sweaters)
fall tv line-ups (new seasons)
apples
pumpkin picking

I do love Fall

Tuesday So Far

So I went to curves and checked it out. I am really leaning on joining....I wanted to sleep on it one night before making a rash decision (I am really bad at impulse buying and joining a 12month contract is not suppose to be an impulse buy) So I think I will go tomorrow (plus I already took a shower and did my make-up really nice for tonight, so I will start tomorrow I think) Today is my brother's 26th birthday so we are going out to dinner for it. I also ran some errands and then sat outside for about 1/2 an hour. It was kinda weird because when I sat on my back patio, I really zoned out and then suddenly I shook my head and was like "how long have I been sitting here?" It was really that relaxing. I think it was the wind mainly. Well ta-ta for now.

Monday, September 6, 2010

Here is what I did today

1. Got a new pair of jeans.

2. exercised (I am thinking about joining Curves...going to get info tomorrow...my doctor suggested I lose 15lbs for fertility issues)

3. watched The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion....and 'whatever' is all I have to say right now about that

4. Made Italian beef for dinner

5. Four loads of laundry

6. continued working on decorations for my husbands upcoming surprise 30th birthday party

7. painted my toe nails and then because of exercising and socks...they are now messed up

We have meat!

Just got back from the meat locker. We got 1/2 a cow. I have enough meat in the freezer to last probably till Christmas. Tomorrow night, New York Strip. The funny thing about this cow is that we did not pay for the cow. I husband did three days of siding someone's house (a friend's mom and stepdad) and we got the cow as payment. But, hey, I have a full freezer.

How many grapes is too many to eat in a days time? Because I have had a ton of grapes today.

I have like 8 blogs that I follow point out that today is 9-02-10.....and have done posts on the TV show 90210. My little claim to 90210 fame-I am friends with Josh Taylor's cousin. He played Dylan's father on the show. He is from a town right next to mine. I believe he is also on Days of Our Lives. My parents home town (fairly close by) has a bar that Josh use to frequent and there are autographs and pictures (I believe 2 pics) of him on the wall. If he is ever back here he will stop by that bar. This is very rare though, he is never back here. Does this make me cool? Just kidding, no it doesn't.

Date of Birth
25 September 1943, Princeton, Illinois, USA

Birth Name
Tommy Tim Taylor

Mini Biography

Armed with a Burt Reynolds-like laid-back grin, virility and swagger, handsome soap actor Josh Taylor was first noticed tending bar near the popular Burbank Studios where "Days of Our Lives" (1965) was being cast. He won the role of working class Chris Kositchek (a bartender, natch) and for four seasons won the hearts of many a lady fan from 1977-1981, returning to the role again in 1982 for another five years.

Born Tommy Tim Taylor in Princeton, Illinois. When he was two-years-old, his family moved to nearby Chillicothe, Illinois. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth University. Despite his good-ol'-boy reputation, he managed to buckle down and holds a Juris Doctorate in Law. Following his daytime fame in the mid-80s, Josh was successful in crossing over to prime-time TV with the sitcom "Valerie's Family" (1986) as series star Valerie Harper's husband, Michael Hogan. In 1988, squabbles between the title star and the network led to Harper's abrupt dismissal. Instead of the expected cancellation, a surprise change showed up in the form of Sandy Duncan who came to the rescue as Valerie's sister and household help, changing the name of the show to _"Hogan Family, The" (1988)_. The program went on for another three seasons.

Brief forays into mini-movies and episodics ("Murder, She Wrote and "Matlock") and a recurring role as Luke Perry's ne'er-do-well father on "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990) failed to keep up a steady pace so Josh returned to the daytime fold in the mid-1990s with brief stints on "The Young and the Restless" and "The Guiding Light." In 1997 he came home to NBC and "Days..." as Roman Brady this time, and stayed with the show until 2004 when his character (and many others in a studio cost-cutting measure) fell victim to a serial killer. Later it was discovered his character managed to survive after all. Josh continues to live a "nine lives" cat-like existence on the show while playing out an attention-getting love triangle with stars Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn. Divorced from film action bombshell Sandahl Bergman of "Red Sonja" fame, Josh remarried and lives with wife Lisa in Burbank. He has a daughter from his first marriage.

IMDb Mini Biography By: Gary Brumburgh / gr-home@pacbell.net

Spouse
Lisa Tremblay (7 November 1999 - present)
Sandahl Bergman (? - ?) (divorced)
Geanne (? - ?) (divorced) 1 child

Trivia

1 daughter, Tristen

Ex-Jesuit priest Father Terrance Sweeney, who served as technical advisor on "The Thorn Birds" (1983), officiated at Josh and Lisa Taylor's wedding.

Taylor met wife Lisa when she was a flight attendant for American Airlines.

Won "Sexiest Man of the Year" award by Afternoon TV and "Best Newcomer of the Year" by a soap opera magazine during the late 70s.

Has the unique distinction of having been in two different long-term roles on the same show. From 1976 to 1987, Taylor portrayed Chris Kositchek. In 1997, exactly one decade later, the actor returned to the fictional town of Salem to tackle the role of Roman Brady.

The Future

I am in a 'thinking about the future mood' right now. I think it is a combination of watching LOST with them skipping through time and past/present/future and a conversation I had today with a friend. (My point here is I prompted the future conversation with my friend because of watching LOST and thinking) I asked her, "If you could see into the future, would you want to and why?" As she was answering I was thinking honestly about IF I could would I? I came to the conclusion that if I could see into the future I would like to pick only a few things to see and not everything, because I want to be surprised. I actually would really love to know if we will be able to have a baby. Because right now I am working part time because the plan is for me to quit when I have a baby. But, if I can't have a baby then maybe I would focus more on my career. I feel like I am wasting time. Should I start thinking about my career or should I stick to the plan? hmm, I don't know........................

So, if you could see into the future would you?

Lost

I have said before that I have been watching "Lost" I am currently in the middle of season 5. (So 1 and 1/2 seasons to go). It is such a good show! I am very impressed!

Matthew Fox-Be still my heart ~swoon~

I am very looking forward to this Labor Day weekend. I will tell more later.

Fall is in the air!
