3 Years of Wedded Bliss

Today is my 3 Year Anniversary. I love my husband more today than the day I married him! He still makes me feel like a newlywed. We have been married 3 years, but have been together 8 years. Please send good thoughts my way that this is the year that we make a baby and that I enter my fourth year pregnant!

This might be picture overload!

I also got a new phone today. I guess you could say it was an anniversary present. However, my anniversary present was actually the Tiffany & Co. bracelet I posted about awhile back. I just received it early. I needed a new phone.

I Can't Look At Another Cookie

I seriously can't look at another cookie for a long time, why, because I made 200 sugar cookies today.
A friend and I volunteered to make 200 cookies for a St. Jude event tomorrow. At this event the kids are able to decorate cookies and wrap them in plastic with a ribbon and take them home as a favor. There will also be a volleyball tournament, bags tournament, bounce houses, silent auctions, etc etc. I am unable to make it since we have plans..but my friend will go and tell me about it.

My legs are tired because of standing in the kitchen.

While the cookies were baking I made pulled pork sandwiches in the crock pot.....THEY WERE AMAZING, IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF! I kind of want another one. After dinner, we watched "Youth in Revolt" and had ice cream. The movie was so funny. It was an easy watch and not for the kiddos, if you know what I mean.

Summery

These are SOME of the strawberries that I picked right before Memorial Day. By some I mean I had already cleaned and filled several gallon zip lock freezer bags by the time I remembered to take a picture.

I just thought these were very summery pics for my post today.

Update-Another month down and no baby.

Ready for the Weekend

Sitting here listening to the rain is so peaceful. My lawn and plants really need it! I am looking forward to tonight because my husband and I are going on a date night (weather.com said the rain should be done by that time) We are having dinner at Flattop Grill (my fav.) and for those of you who don't know what that is it is a create your own stirfry place. After dinner, we are going to go see "Get Him to the Greek"....I have not heard much hype about it so I am not sure if it is good or not, but we are still going to see it. There really is not much out right now that I want to see. I have zero plans for Saturday and Sunday we are having a small cookout for father's day. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

I want a pool

I had such a wonderful time yesterday at the pool with some friends. However, today's heat and humidity is worse than yesterday. I wish I had a pool I could jump in any time I wanted. Our yard would fit a pool, it would just take up most of the yard. Oh, and it is that small matter of finance.

Champion

Recently, Huckleberry won some awards that he is oh so proud of and wanted me to take a moment to share his glory. He won 2 medals.

He is quite an athlete. Now Olympic training starts....hehe

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a local fundraiser here and it was a "Doggie Fair" he won the awards for 'most tail wags per minute' and 'best trick' (3rd place for this one)
He also made a cement paw print (you know just like kids make in preschool) and around his paw print was his name in colorful stones. It was a really fun event. I got a really cool key chain because he won.
Potluck Love
Isn't it a good feeling when you bring a side dish to a potluck and the people there finish every morsel?
I went to my family reunion today (potluck style) and the dish I brought was all gone!
Here is why....
Here is the follow up to my previous post......
(Why I was not looking forward to this weekend)
Every year (for the past 33 years) there is this music festival that goes on in a town near me. It is like a mini-woodstock (if you can call 2,700 tickets printed mini?) and it really is just not my thing. I have been going for 8 years. It was fun the first 3 or 4 times, but the older I get the more I dread it. Why do I go you ask? Because my husband likes to go. (I do have a whole bunch of friends that go) He really loves it and he really wanted to go. I only went because of him. I actually asked him if I could skip it and he go by himself, but he looked really disappointed and said "I would really like you to go with me." So I went.
It is held on this private farm and it is 3 days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) of bands and camping. It is always so hot and sweaty and dirty and crazy.....it really is a mini-woodstock...if you want to see a modern day hippy I will show you one. There are some crazy people there.
The farm that it is on is actually some really good friends of ours. (the property has two house and my husband use to live in one) (the big house this husband and wife ((owners)) lived in and the little house their only son was able to move into when he was 18 and that is my husband's friends and my hubby was his roommate for a few years. Well the husband and wife ended up divorcing because the husband got a young girlfriend and the son (who now has a wife of his own and 3 kids) moved to the big house and the dad (after living in said girlfriends trailer for awhile) ended up moving him and his girlfriend into the little house. (the ex-wife ended up remarrying and moving away)
Well anyways...like I said...3 days of music, camping, and lots of drinking. Also (I said it was like a mini woodstock) so if you catch my drift of what else is there floating around. Just lots of crazy people.
My husband wanted to camp both nights and I wanted to camp zero nights so we compromised and camped one night. The second night (as a part of the compromise) I was the DD so that we could go home and sleep in our beds. On Saturday they have a horseshoe tournament and my husband likes to do that (that is the main reason he is so excited to go...he really likes to play horseshoes) I went home while he was playing in the tournament to shower, relax in the a/c and take care of the dog....also it rained while I has at home so when I went back out it was a muddy mess.
Here are some of the crazy things that happened:
-full fledged mud wrestling after the rain
-naked women (why is it always the women that get naked?) walking around-I saw 3 of them.
-fights
-this one kid who was on drugs hoping from car to car in the parking lot and when the security came to get him that kids friends started fighting the security.
There were cops staked all over the near by roads (again this is private property so cops can't come on unless called) and about a mile away as I was driving home Saturday night was a tow truck idealing with its parking lights on just waiting to impound cars.
I just don't like this weekend and prefer to stay home.....I only go because of the love of my husband. He likes to play horseshoes and drink beer with his friends. I always stick to him like glue because I don't like some of the stuff that goes on around....I don't want to see it.
Holy Tornados batman!!!!!
We had several tornadoes roll through some surrounding towns. Three of them........one almost destroyed a whole town....an itty bitty teeny weeny town......the Red Cross was called in and the whole town went to the high school for safety. That town is shut down.....no one may enter....state troopers are blocking all roads. Another one happened over the river and the third one happened in the next town over (which is actually the town I went to high school at). That one destroyed a Morton building completely and tore a few partial roofs off. It also took out some crops and trees but that is about it. My town was just rain and lightening. Almost all towns that surround me lost power, but we did not. It was a scary night last night.
However, we did get a lot accomplished yesterday. I have this really long flower bed that runs the entire length of my fence and we use to plant Cana's there. But, if you know anything about cana bulbs you know that you are suppose to dig them up every Fall and replant them every Spring. This got to be a lot of work and when you planted them in the Spring, it took a long time to grow into a plant so the flower bed looked like crap for most of the year. We got like two good months. So, we lost faith in it and the flower bed got ran over by weeds. ((((Mainly creeping charlie weeds from the neighbors yard.....nobody lives in that house and this one kid comes and mows it like twice a month at the most and that is all the maintenance that yard gets, so the weeds spread)))) So we tilled up the flower bed and put down some landscaping fabric to control the weeds and we planted------------------------
*Peonies-(the variety is called the "Sarah Bernhardt" it is light pink)
&
*Hydrangeas-(the varieties are "Endless Summer" ((could be pink or blue based on the type of soil)) and I can't remember the other ones name but it is dark pink)
MY FAVORITE FLOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I won't see much until next Spring so I will have to wait. I might see some action from the hydrangeas, but the peonies will just look like a green bush until next Spring. I can't wait.....I imagine taking lots of pictures in front of my hydrangeas and peonies!!!!!!!!!!!! It is amazing how much it helped the backyard after we laid the mulch.
Hum...
This is a piece of gossip....so if you don't like gossip stop reading....and if you think I am a big gossip, well I guess you will just have to hate me......
This just happened today to an 'acquaintance' of mine....(we are not friends, but we are sorta in the same circle....in my town....everyone knows everyone)
She just had a baby on Monday morning........a few hours after that she really wanted to have a cigarette, but the nurses said they would not wheel her out until she was able to stand on her own. Well, she wanted to prove to the nurses that she could stand on her own so that she could have a cigarette so she stood, fell, and broke her arm. I guess it was good that she was already at the hospital.
Yes she smoked the entire pregnancy. I saw her for an hour two weeks ago and I counted 4 cigs in one hour.
She probably won't be able to hold her son properly for a while. She lives with her parents so she should have help. She does not know who the father is, so I don't know who will help her while her parents are at work?
