It's my Birthday!!!!

Today is my birthday!!! I wish my husband didn't have to work today...but it will only be for a few hours!!!!

Hopefully we get lots of trick or treaters tonight.

My mom sent me chocolate UGGS!!!!

Busy Weekend

Weekend recap-
Friday-*Helped the Ladies Guild make apple pies for the Saturday Craft show
*Ran to grocery store to buy supplies for my own bake good donation
*Baked said bake goods
*Delivered said bake goods
*Dinner at China Village Buffet (obviously Wes's choice)
*Shopped around for a new deep freezer (We are getting 1/4 cow next week)
Saturday-*Help work at Craft show in bake sale and raffle booths
*All night party in Manito at Uncle Jim's and Aunt Deb's (got home at 3am)
Sunday-*Laundry, grocery shopping, football, and pizza

I am tired just typing this.....................................

I also worked today (Monday) and have to work tomorrow too.

There is a cute story I want to tell quickly:

Wes's grandma's name is Pat. She married her husband Jim (one and only huband) like 50 years ago. Jim died in 2003 (I never met Wes's grandpa Jim Sr.) So she has been widowed 6 years. She lives in a senior highrise apartment.

Well, she brought a new 'friend' to the party Saturday. His name was Roy. They grew up together. When they were really little they lived in the Harrison Home projects together and then their respective family happen to move to East Peoria together in the same neighborhood. Well, when they were teenagers I guess Roy loved Pat. He left for the army at 18 and was planning on asking her to marry him when he returned. We he returned he found out the Pat married Jim. (who she is now widowed from) She broke Roy's heart like 50 some odd years ago. (Roy did not tell Pat how much he loved her as a childhood sweetheart. So Roy married another women and life went on. Well Pat and Roy both moved to Manito. with their spouses and children. (Weird: Peoria, East Peoria, and Manito? Always living in the same town?) Well, when Jim died Roy sent Pat a sympathy card. Then last year Roy's wife died and Pat sent him a sympathy card. Well one of them called the other and they have been talking since. They now hang out together and go to dinner and things. What a love story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Almost 70 years in the making. I am so happy for her. When Jim died she turned into a huge homebody and now she is going out to dinner. That is a huge step.

Slacker

I have been a slacker lately with my blog. October really has been a crazy busy month. This last weekend might of been the craziest!!!

Friday-Went shopping with my mom. We Christmas shopped because she will not be back here until after Christmas. I bought her something and she bought me something. I got her a sweater and she bought me a ring from Zales. ( Blue Topaz, white saphires, and diamonds) I can't wear it until Christmas. After that, I went to dinner with Wes at Denny's and I got really sick after.

Saturday-My mom left in the morning and then Wes and I headed to the ISU homecoming football game.

Lunch-hotdogs and Soft Pretzel

Wes complained the whole time because he was cold, hungrey, and thirsty. I asked myself several times why I want a child when I already have one. It was hard to have fun with him complaining sooooo much but I tried.

After the game, my neighbors had a housewarming party. It turns out I know the girl's older brother! Small world. I really liked them a lot and I hope they liked us. I want to be friends. Wes got really drunk and loud and I think we stayed too late, so that is why I am worried we will not be friends. Wes even fell down the stairs when we got home. (Oh he also spilled beer on their carpet.

Sunday, we went to Mindy and Brads to watch the football game. We had dinner over there too. I bought a Bears jersey early that day so I fit right in.

Next weekend is going to be just as busy!!!!

Am I Invisible

Some days I swear I feel like a ghost?

examples:
*I will leave a comment on Facebook to someones status and they will reply to everyone who posted a comment except me
*I will be somewhere with some one (party, cookout, tupperware party, etc) and then later I will be talking to that person and they will say, "Sunday I went to this cookout at *&^%'s house" I will just nod my head but I will be thinking "Yeah I was there....I said hi to you and talked to you" I have had several instants in my life where a similar situation happens-there will be a party and then later someone will tell me a story about that party where I was at and standing right there
*I never get phone calls. I have tried experiments before where I put my phone on silent at 3 pm friday afternoon and then leave it in a drawer till 10pm sunday night and not have a single missed call (I do this on weekends because I do get calls once a day for work)

Wow, October

October has turned into a very busy month this year.
Last Saturday-cookout at Mindy's
This Saturday-Bobby's horseshoe tournament and my mom coming for a week
Next Saturday-ISU Homecoming Football Game and Laura' Competitive Potluck
The next Saturday-St. Monica's Craft/bake sale that I volunteered at
The last Saturday of the month Halloween and my birthday

*Deer Hunting season has also started
*I did a Mary Kay book party
*hopefully getting a new counter top in the mud room.
I hope I have enough time for all of it.

I love date night!

Just got back from a date night with my husband. We didn't do much, just went to dinner, but I always have so much fun. He is the best friend I have ever had. Great dinner with drinks and desert.

(Preface-We have a dog named Huckleberry) My husband and I were doing rock paper scissors on whether he should get his hair cut. Then we got on the subject of rock paper scissor and my husband said, "We can never do rock paper scissors with Huckleberry because he would throw paper everytime." I thought that was too funny.......(BTW I won and his hair will be cut tomorrow at 6pm)
