Funny Dog Story

Set-Up:

We have a mud room in my home and it has a rug laying next to the door. This is my dog's favorite place to nap. Not sure why, but it is.

Also, my dog has collar with two metal tags on it on one of those metal rings. One is his rabies tag and the other is a military dog tag with our name, address, and phone number on it. (my brother is a Marine and made it for me)

Ok Story:

Whenever I walk into the kitchen, my dog will get up from where ever he is at and come greet me. This afternoon I walked into the kitchen and his prance toward me sounded funny and he was walking weird. I looked down and when he got up from his nap...the metal ring that holds the tags on got caught in one of the fibers of the rug and he was dragging the rug along with him on his collar. It was hilarious, his pour face looked so confused. I laughed for like ten minutes.

Happy Easter & Weekend Wrap-Up

Well Happy Easter everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has been a pretty mellow weekend for sure! It has been raining and raining and raining forever!!!! We did have a nice day yesterday (Saturday), it did rain over night while we were sleeping, and so far it has been nice today but it is starting to get overcast now and weather.com says rain is on its way.

Friday, I had the day off. I went shopping with my friend, however it was pouring down rain. We wanted to go to Old Navy which unfortunately is at our outdoor mall. (We have two malls, one indoors and one you have to walk outside to each store.) So we got wet in between stores. I brought an umbrella so I had to carry that around each store. I got a long black skirt, 4 tank tops ($4.25 a piece), and a short sleeved t-shirt. I know I just went to Old Navy a week ago. HOWEVER, I do have two gripes about Old Navy, one I will tell now and one I will tell later in this entry. A week ago (2 Fridays ago) I bought a light blue short sleeved t-shirt from there. It had a flower off center on the chest and white beads sewn all over the flower. Well, I wore it to work the following Monday and I wasn't at work 1 hour when one of the beads fell off in my lap. Suckville for a brand new shirt, never been washed!!!!!! Fail number one....fail number two is worse and will come later.

After that, we stopped by Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I got another Tervis Tumbler. I have two now. This is the one I already had:

Then on Friday evening, my brother and I went to see. Cirque Du Soleil: Dralion. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I HAD A BLAST!!!!!!! If you have never seen a Cirque Du Soleil, I recommend it. This was my second one. My first was Zoomanity. After the show I hung out with my brother and his roommate. My husband stayed home and re-gripped his golf clubs. Boring old man, hehehehe.

Saturday I watched tons of movies. I watched "Gone with the Wind" and then I went to the theater and watched "Water for Elephants" amazing! I than went and grocery shopped. i guess it is my turn to be the boring old women, grocery shopping on a Saturday night. I decided to go ahead and go grocery shopping on Saturday night because I had a lot of energy in me and I thought the store when be almost empty. I never go on a Saturday. I usually go Monday or Tuesday during the day. I was wrong. The store was packed!!! Is it usually on a Sat. night or was it just because of Easter??? My husbanded worked until 9 pm. So we had a late dinner. We then watched the "Tourist" scratch that. I watched the "Tourist" while my husband slept. Because he had to work today, I gave my husband his Easter basket last night. It was filled with candy we can share, but it also had beef jerky, golf tees, and other manly things.

Now, lets go back to when I went to the movie theater to watch "Water for Elephants" It was finally warm enough for me to wear one of the dresses I got at Old Navy. It is a cottony summer type dress, but it is full length. It also has spaghetti straps and since I am a double D cup I can not wear anything without a bra. So, I wore a tank top underneath it so I could wear a bra. When I got out of the car and started walking toward the theater, I felt something get loose on my right side and looked down and saw my strap broke. I have been wearing this dress like half an hour. The strap broke at the point wear it meet the chest part of the dress. (It was a v neck) If I did not wear the tank top, my bra or (if you went bra-less) would of been exposed for the world to see. No one was in the parking lot with me so I don't think any one saw (but I can't be sure) I was running late for the movie so I tied it and walked in. I am pissed first the bead and then the dress.

Today I just watched "Rabbit Hole" and I have a roast in the oven for dinner.

Oh, on Saturday night, someone in my neighborhood let off fireworks. They were good ones too, so I got to see fireworks on Saturday.

Since I have not blogged in a while I think I am just going to do a blog dump:

*I have been a shop-aholic the last several days and it feels really good. I haven't got a lot of new stuff lately. I got five dresses at Old Navy. I went to the website to find pics of all of them, however I only found one pic of one of the dresses I got. I got this dress:


I also got a solid red one, a blue print one, and a long white one with gold flowers on it. The long white one was in a commercial for them, so I don't understand why it is not on their website...hmm?
I also got a blue shirt with a flower on it. BTW-also not on their website.

The next day we went to Shoe Carnival to find my husband some shoes. However, he left the store with zero shoes and I left with these two:

Not Sure how that happened. My husband has a really hard time with buying things for himself.

One funny thing happened (my husband is a carpenter, so over the years he has worked with many different plumbers, electricians, painters, landscapers, etc, etc. So it is not unlikely that we are some where that he sees someone he has worked with in the past. He always says hi. So he doesn't have co-workers per-say..it is usually someone he has worked with before) Well, we were at a sporting goods store and someone walked by and my husband said, "Hey Dustin" the guy laughed and turned around, "I am not Dustin, I am his twin brother Darrin" Haha...my husband got tricked by some twins....it was funny at the time, moving on:



(Another quick twin story since the topic was brought up. Two of my best friends are twins (boys...let's call them T and B). One of them got a tanning package, but the other one also wanted to use it. So, they would just go every other day and the other twin would go on the odd days. (understand what I just said I hope) So they both used the tanning package but only one paid since they were twins. However, T ended up going home with the front desk girl and slept with her, but he didn't tell B. Can you image image when B went in there and how awkward the girl was around him...having just had sex with his brother but B didn't know so he was probably acting all nonchalant and she didn't know that she slept with T and not B? I don't know, I thought it was a funny story. )

*My husband started some side jobs lately so I have had a lot of time to myself. So, I have been watching movies. This weekend I watched "I'm Still Here," "Tangled," and "How do you Know"

I enjoyed them all. (Well I enjoyed "I'm Still Here" the least)


We did how ever get a chance to go out to dinner last night and we had Chinese.



*Friday afternoon, when I got off work I was just so exhausted from the week. My husband worked until 2:30 am that day finishing a kitchen remodel side job so that he could start a roof on Saturday. So I was alone. Not only was I completely exhausted, it was also pouring rain outside which makes me even more tired. I really just wanted to lay down and listen to the rain. I figured the best place to hear it was the front door. So, (our front storm door is all glass-full length) I grabbed some pillows and blankets, opened the big door and left the storm door closed of course, shut off all the lights and laid there. It was so relaxing!!!! I kind of felt stupid, but I was the only one home and it was completely dark inside and out. It was a good thing I didn't fall asleep there because if I would of woken up there I probably would of been scared.

Upcoming week-

I work tomorrow.
Tuesday-Might be hanging out with a friend
Wednesday-Going to lunch with one friend and then we are going to another friends house for a little make shift Easter egg hunt. All my friends have kids except me so I will just go and watch and socialize and then cry hysterically on the way home.

Thursday-No plans now

Friday evening-Cirque Du Soleil !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Sunday night

Where did the weekend go?

Not much was done around here. Friday I got Cirque Du Solei tickets so that is exciting. Friday night I watched "The Switch" so happy I did not go to the theater to watch that!!!!! Corny and boring. Saturday I went to a book sale at the library and I bought 15 books!!!! Many of them are old OPRAH book club books, let's hope they are good. Then Saturday afternoon I watched my husband and his friend install a sliding glass door as his friends house. I brought my dog and chit chatted with other people there. My husband and his friend had to run to a home improvement store to get more wood and as my husband was backing out of the driveway, he ran right into my car and scratched it really bad. There is no dent, but he took paint off. I am super pissed!!!!!!!! My cars have been hit 5 times in my life and 4 of those times where from men and all the times my car was parked....standing still people. B-S men are better drivers!!!!!!!!!! Hahaha

Today I did a little yard work (like an hours worth) I cleaned up one flower bed. When my husband came home from work he came home with mulch and spread the mulch out in the flower bed that I cleaned up. I went on a walk and watched "Sister Wives" and "RHW of Orange County"

Well, that is about it. I have tomorrow off, but I work Tuesday through Friday with a possibility that Thursday might be canceled. Talk more later................

Vamped for the Weekend

So far today has been a crazy day and it is only 10:40 am. I was suppose to work this morning until 11:30 but when I arrived at work the secretary said, "Oh, I thought I called and told you that this morning was canceled?" I was like "No, I didn't receive a phone call." So basically I didn't work. I deserve to be paid when this happens, but this district doesn't like to pay for their mistakes (every other district is happy to pay me when this happens) I do feel as though I deserve to be paid because yesterday I got a call to work in another district and I turned them down because I was scheduled to work in this district. I guess I will have to wait and see. I am entitled to it. However, it is kind of a catch 22 because if I cause a stink about this one morning, they might be less likely to call me for future dates. Also, this place is one block from my house so I want to work there (I can walk to work).

So since I got turned away at 7:45 this morning I decided to go home get work-out cloths on and go to the gym. So I did get a work-out in, but it was in full make-up and freshly showered and I don't like to work out in full make-up. When I sweat the make-up drips down up face.

I did make it home in enough time to watch Russel Brand on "Live with Regis and Kelly" he was absolutely hilarious!!!! So I got a second work-out in while laughing at him. (But, I was eating Pringles while watching it, but they were the new multi-grain Pringles.)

My husband is also working from home for a few hours today, I can hear the saws going now. He will be leaving to drop some cabinets off to be painted.

This afternoon, my brother and I are going to go get tickets for "Cirque Du Solei: Dralion" at the end of April. I have to wait for him to get done with school first.

This evening we are going to grill brats and rent a movie.

Well that is about it for now.

Parenthood

I don't know if many of you watch Parenthood on NBC, but they are dealing with infertility right now. This week's episode made me cry and cry. I can totally relate to Julia and how she is keeping a strong front. Because I am also. It is so weird how a TV show can be so relate-able???

Name Slip Up

Parents-Have you ever called your children by the other child's name? (My parents called my two brother each other's names all the time)

Well last night my husband and I were play wrestling and I said "Stop it Huck!" Huck is my dog's name! Whoops

Strange Dream

I had a dream last night that I had to sub and in the morning a fellow teacher asked to take my coat in the morning. I gave it to her to hang up during the day, then at the end of the day I couldn't find it on the coat rack. Then I spent the rest of the dream looking for my coat. I was running all over the place..looking, looking, looking for it. I asked everyone. It just felt like I spent so much time looking for my coat.

Why did I have such a stupid dream about a coat?????????????????????
