Pregnancy Dream? Maybe?

I might of had a pregnancy dream.  Actually I might of had two two nights in a row.  If yes, these were not the type of pregnancy dreams I was thinking of hahaha.

FYI-I am going to talk about 2 dreams I have had.  If this will bore you, stop reading now.  I am writing this for my documentation purposes alone.

Ok, the reason I MIGHT of had 2 is because the first one was 99% not pregnancy related...and maybe 1% pregnancy related.  The 2nd one was so horrible, I don't even want to think about it, but basically it was preggo related?????

Ok, the first one, which is the longest:

Ok, my husband and I were CSI (crime scene investigators) and we were working on a crime.  (while I was working...I had the knowledge I was pregnant, but it wasn't a big theme) As we were working, gathering clues...interviewing...checking out locations...etc, there was this blonde lady who was lurking at everyplace.  She was like straining her ear to hear things and she even ducked under police tape to get closer and was always lead right back out.

Well, one of our leads lead us to a school.  We went to this school late and everything was dark.  We purposely went late because we wanted to search files without being interrupted.  When we got to the main DARK office...she was there with a flashlight sifting through papers.  We asked her why she was there and all she said was, "Look for a teacher."  We asked why she would say that and she said, "I use to be a teacher and I just know somethings."  We repeat, "use to be?" and she said, "Yes, now I am the Warden at the jail."  Then she quickly left.

Well, we thought that was weird and wanted to ask her a few more questions so the next morning we went to the jail.  It was a small town jail and she was the only person working.  All the cells were open, but the prisoners were just inside their cells.  We asked to talk to her and she said yes, outside, but she had to shut all the cells first.  As she was going around shutting the cells....one of the prisoners lite a fire and it spread.  My husband and I wanted out of course, but there was one main locked gate that we needed her to unlock.  She quickly unlocked it for us and then went back to the cells.  My husband and I were in the parking lot and quickly a large group of  'looky-lous' were in the gravel parking lot.  I mean a ton of nosey townspeople.  So we just wandered around and saw a friend of ours in a car with his window rolled down, watching the jail burn.  So we chatted with him and watched the fire.  (This isn't relevant, but for some reason there was a bar stool next to his car window that I sat on while we talked)

Then, a girl that I went to my high school with showed up.  This girl and I were not great friends....but were sorta friendly acquaintances in high school.  We basically just chit chatted and caught up.  While we were talking.....I told her I was pregnant and she said, "why would you go and do a thing like that?" (very snotty like)  But, for some reason in the dream, I knew she was sad because she doesn't have a husband yet and wanted a child, but just didn't have the dad part of the equation yet.  I knew that she was trying to 'save face' so I didn't take the remark personally.

So there you go.....all about the crime and fire and then at the very last second...pregnancy came up.

Ok, the second dream....I dreamt that my husband and I were at the doctors and she couldn't hear a heartbeat.

So, that is why I said dreams that I wasn't expecting.

I want a pregnancy dream where I have a happy healthy baby and I am with them.

I really want to have a pregnancy dream!  When do those start?  I also really want to feel a flutter...now that should be happening sometime in the next week or two.

We Got Furniture!

We bought all the furniture.  I feel so much more relaxed now that this is done.  Now this was hard because of several reasons.

1.  I DID NOT want to order on line and have them ship it to me.  The shipping is really expensive for one.  Also, I am a worrier, majorly, and it is just too much money for me to be in limbo about...I know, I am weird, whatever, I just really like going to the store and bringing the product home.  Sorry, just the way I am.  If I ever order anything it is usually something pretty inexpensive.

(However, I did order over $100 worth of maternity clothes from MotherHood Maternity and when they arrived, the package looked like it had been through a war.  It was dirty and ripped and beaten...good thing it was just clothes.)

So because of this I was very limited in my selection...which is my own fault.  ((Oh also, a friend of mine ordered baby furniture and the furniture arrived 3 months after the baby was already born because it was back ordered so much...that was from jcpennys fyi...I don't want to be in that boat))

2.  I wanted a three piece set of crib/changing table/dresser...I wanted a matching set.  Just really narrowed down my choices.  I was really surprised at how unlikely there was to be an actual furniture set.  Either it didn't have a dresser, or it didn't have a changing table, or it was only the crib and didn't have either.
side note on changing tables-I had a ton of people tell me to not even bother with the changing table and that I would never use it.  I use to babysit a lot and I spent many years working in a nursery at a daycare.  I always used the changing table.  I will use mine I know I will.  I like having the area where everything I need is there and I am able to stand up straight and change a diaper.  I remember one time at a Thanksgiving my aunt changed my cousin on my mom's bed and he peed all over her comforter, it was bad.  It was dry clean only too.  I was also at a cookout once at a friend's and other friend changed her baby on my friends couch and got poop all over it.  I just like having the area.  I want a changing table.  They aren't that expensive...it was the cheapest of the three.  Plus mine has a large drawer and two shelves so I can store things.
I might be alone on the changing table opinion.  When I shopped it looked like a lot of sets had a crib, a tall dresser, and a short dresser and on the short dresser people put a contoured changing pad.  This would be great...but it is just a way for the store to get more money because the additional short dresser was like $400 plus dollars when most changing table ranged from $60-$150ish give or take a little more or less-ish.  So I could not afford 2 dressers.

3.  I wanted a really light wood color, natural wood, almost a yellow wood.  Apparently this color is out of style.  Some stores had one or no choice...and every online places had a surprisingly few number of choices on natural wood color.

So, factoring all of this in....I got furniture...I like it....it is fine...it is the best I could of done with budget/choices/complete sets/wanting to buy from a local store and bring it home that day.  I also want a gender neutral set since I want to use the same nursery furniture for both babies I hope to have one day.  So white or black was out of the question.

btw-I wanted natural color because I am painting the room grey and I thought it would go the best.  But, I ended up with a darker wood.

Here is my furniture:

I also got a mattress and a contoured changing table pad.  My crib is a 4-1 and will convert to a toddle/daybed/full size.  You have to buy the conversion kits separate, of course, and the two conversion kits I bought were not in stock...so I will get those in 6-8weeks.

Successful garage sale day!

I had a very successful day at garage sales.
I bought this baby Einstein library of 12 books for $3. The books looks new and glossy!

Next I bought "Baby Wise" the price tag said $1 but she sold it to me for 50 cents.

I thought a boy or girl could wear these slippers.

Now these onesies. When we are alone and I am acting silly, I say to my husband "somebunny loves you!". Just because it annoys him. So when I saw these I laughed because that is what they say. Now I got this at a house of a lady who had twins...one boy and one girl. If you noticed the word 'me' one is pink and one is blue. So I will use the one I need and donate or give to someone the other one. She sold them both to me for 75 cents instead of the dollar she was originally asking for.

Just a receiving blanket...hopefully this is gender neutral enough.

Scrapbooking punch of a cupcake.

Roller stamps...5 of them.

Now...when I was done at the garage sales I wanted to go to....I went to my friends garage sale. She is a professional photographer and she was selling some props. Now I know this tutu is girly....if I don't have a girl...I will just give it back to her. It was free....why not?

Now this is also a prop from said photographer friend. My name means honey bee so that is why she gave me this costume. I won't be able to use it for Halloween since it is a 3-6 month size, but we will take pictures in it. Again, free. My baby won't be born this Halloween and it will be a year old next Halloween. If I have a boy, I will have to cover the feet with socks since the costume looks like Mary Jane shoes on the bottom.

Pregnancy Brain

I had three funny pregnancy stories that happened to me in the past several days (well two were today) and I wanted to blog about them so that I could remember them later.  I do think it is pregnancy brain because I have never made these mistakes before.

#1.  I poured myself a glass of ice tea.  I drank about 3/4 of it and wanted a refill.  I went to refill it and as I was pouring I noticed my tea was getting clearer and clearer.  I was like "What the heck?" I couldn't figure it out.  Then I realized, I grabbed my Brita pitcher with water instead of my ice tea pitcher.  I was pouring water in.  I have never done that before.

#2.  I had some left over spaghetti in my fridge that I was planning on having for lunch.  I pulled it out and put it in the microwave.  I set the time and walked away.  Then I totally forgot about it.  (within 2 1/2 mins) About an hour or more later I remembered it.  I walked to the microwave and it was flashing "end" "end" "end" for more than an hour.  I can't believe I forgot that.

#3.  I forgot what this story was......hmmm?

Just kidding! (ok not a funny joke)

This has to do with texting.  I have a friend whose husband is not very good with birthday's, anniversaries, mother's day, etc.  He just isn't very romantic.  He is a good man, very hard working, very funny, etc, but just fails in the holiday department with her all the time.  For some reason, this mother's day he did a good job.  The day before he brought home 2 bottles of wine, a plant, and flowers with a balloon, and a card.  Well, she sent me a picture message of the gifts and wrote "Kevin did good this year!"  I meant to text back "Wow" but for some reason I texted but "Why".  Now just think about this...you just sent a pic to your good friend about gifts your husband got you and she texts back "why"...doesn't that sound mean? hahaha I actually checked our text trail and figured out I sent 'why' instead of 'wow' and I explained myself and apologized.  We had a good laugh and she said "texting and pregnancy doesn't go together" hahaha
I got my toes done yesterday.

Maternity Clothes

I bought my first set of maternity clothes today.  I got a plain green v-neck shirt and a striped tank top.  I really don't need them yet, but I got a $10 gift card to Kohls and I didn't need anything else so I thought I would go for it.  I think I am going to be putting an order into Motherhood Maternity soon also.  Kohl's didn't have any bottoms in my size.  I want a pair of shorts, a jean skirt, and a pair of jeans.  We are going to a Memorial Day cook-out and I want to look cute.  Again..all of my clothes fit right now, but I don't like any pressure on my stomach.  I have a pair of khakis that fit still, but it has a big plastic button that is just hitting me in the wrong spot.  After my cousin had her kid, she told me the one thing she regretted was not investing in maternity clothes.  She wore her husband's (who is a big big man) t-shirts and sweats and things and she said she just felt frumpy the whole time.  She let it go on so long that she was getting close to delivery that she still didn't want to spend the money.  After the baby she just felt bad that she didn't look cute at all through out her pregnancy.  I want to feel cute.  If I am carrying this baby, I deserve a few pieces, right?  haha.  My cousin happened to never have another kid..but I think I want 2 so I will save my clothes for the second one...hopefully.

I believe I am getting a little bit of the round ligament pain.  It is not all the time....I definitly feel it when I stand up too fast.  It is not that bad...just a quick sharp tweeng (I know not a real word...but I would not use the word pain yet)  I hope it is the ligament pain I am feeling because that would mean I am on track and growing.

I dread public bathrooms....I just can't stand to smell other people's poop and pee...it really gags me.  One of my students yesterday smelled like poop and I just couldn't get around her.  I don't think she wiped well.  Public bathrooms effect me more now than they ever have.

I am also pretty tired and I am never hungry and can never finish a meal.

More and more people are finding out so the word is spreading.

That is about all the updates I have for now.

Thought I would do a quick post.  However, nothing is really that new.  I am going to tell my parents about my pregnancy this weekend.  If anyone wonders why it is taking so long to tell them, the reason is I really wanted to tell them at an 'event'.  So on Friday evening I am hosting a shrimp boil at my house for my dad's birthday.  So I wrapped up a present for him that is a picture frame with a saying that says something like "Great Dad's Get Promoted to Grandpa" or something close to that.  Then I put a picture in it that is my dog with the note around his neck that says "I am going to be a big brother" (I posted the pic earlier if you remember) So he will open it in front of my brothers and grandparents.  Then I could not tell my mom (they are divorced) yet because she can not keep a secret...and I didn't want to ruin the event announcement.  My mom lives really far away so I did the same thing (the frame is the same except replace grandpa with grandma...I bought them both at Hallmark so they are similar...my dad is burgandy and my mom's is white.)  I mailed the package today.  I paid for priority shipping and they said it is suppose to arrive on Thursday.  So hopefully the secret can be kept for one day.  (my mom is not good at keeping secrets, so I am worried about this)  I wrote in the card to keep it a secret for now, but she won't keep it.  So hopefully in one day it won't get to my dad.  Actually I would be ok if it didn't arrive until Friday.

So there you go.  After Friday I will be free to tell anyone I want whenever I want to.

I have been so busy lately I can't wait to have a rest day.  It probably won't happen for a while...this weekend I will be helping my cousin with her wedding invites.

Pregnancy related items: Public bathrooms have been making me gag.  Also, my stomach is very warm to the touch.  That is really the only things going on with my body.

Talk to you later.
