Whirlwind Weekend

Boy am I tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mom came in town this weekend and it was jammed packed.  First of all it is always so stressful because we (meaning I) have to rotate around everyone's schedule.  (everyone meaning her and everyone she wants to visits schedule)  So it started Friday. Friday we were suppose to have breakfast and then go swimming at her hotel, but her husband and her slept late and he was afraid he would miss Rush Limbaugh on the radio if they picked a restaurant place and waited on me.  Basically he wanted to eat right then and right now and didn't want to wait for me.  So after breakfast he went back to hotel to listen to Rush and my mom came to my house to see the nursery.  We then went swimming at the hotel.  He came down to the pool and he was mad because they interrupted Rush to air the CUBS/Cardinals game.  I guess Karma showed up after being so selfish about breakfast.  Then just mom and I went to get ice cream and then I was dropped off at home to get ready for the evening.  The plan was to go out to eat and then to our local minor league baseball game.  Well we went to the restaurant that was previously planned and it was closed for vacation for another week.  So we had to pick another and once we were there we waiting for 1 1/2 hr for our food..so basically we missed the baseball game.  So we just went home afterwards.

Saturday, we met my aunt and her husband for brunch.  Then my mom's husband had to be at the airport to leave so I went home and my brother stopped by.  We then went out to pick up my grandma who doesn't drive much and she lives 40mins away.  So that round trip and visiting for awhile put us right in time for church. After church a bunch of us went out for steak for dinner.  After that my husband, my brother, his girlfriend, and I went to the comedy club.  We saw a hypnotist.  He was hilarious.

Sunday, we went to brunch at the country club and then headed to a play called "Harvery".  The town the play was in 1hr 45 mins away so that round trip took a lot of time.  Two famous soap stars were in it.  I am not a fan of the soaps, but if you are and you ask...I will dig out my ticket from my purse and tell you who they were.  On the drive back we stopped at a sweets shop and then my grandma's for awhile.  I then came home hoping to watch Army Wives but apparently they took another weeks break.

My mom left and I can finally relax.  Every minute of this weekend was jammed packed!

Diaper Bag

Well my diaper bag has been ordered.  It is the picture above, but the pattern in Minty Chip which you see in the second row, second from the left.

This is a thirty-one bag (does everyone know what that is?  it is an at-home purse/tote party thing) so it isn't technically a 'diaper bag'.

I hope I like it.  The biggest 'con' in my opinion is that it doesn't zip which disappoints me a little.

But here is why I got it:
1. I am having two showers and my mom is coming to both of them...soooooo...this is actually a gift from her for my shower.  My first shower she is gifting me my bedding and this is my gift for the second.
2.  She went to a thirty-one bag party of a friends and she said she has plenty of purses and totes and didn't need anymore, but wanted to buy from her friend, so she decided to just get me a diaper bag..she let me pick from the catalog.
3.  I like exterior pockets.  You see two on the front, two elastic mesh ones on the side, and on the back is three more exterior pockets.  I like to put frequently used items in them instead of at the bottom of the big part.  My current purse has one exterior pocket and I find myself using it a bunch.
4.  The biggest appeal is that they personalize.  My mom also got me a mini zipper pouch to put in it.  The outside of the bag is going to have our last name (because I want to use it for future babies and then when my babies don't need diapers anymore, I can use it as a tote in general.  I like to get usage out of items.) and the little pouch will just have the first letter of our last name on it.

Here is the mini zipper pouch and again it is the same minty chip pattern to match the diaper bag.

I will be purchasing a changing pad.  What do you think?

Glucose Test

I had my glucose test today.  Definitely not fun, but not as bad as I thought.  Basically you must arrive after fasting for 8 hrs...MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT FOR FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!!!!!  That is my tip.  My appointment was 8am.  So you get one vial of blood drawn and then you must drink a sugary drink and finish it within 5 mins.  I got the choice between fruit punch or orange drink.  I picked fruit punch.  The drink was not that bad, everyone complains about the nasty drink, but I thought it was fine. Then you wait one hour and get more blood drawn and then you wait one more hour and the final blood drawn.  So the worst part was waiting and needle stick.

My husband had to work so my friend came with me.  Also there were two girls about my age and pregnant (obviously since they were there for a gluc. test too)  who were really nice.  So the 4 of us chatted and that made the time speed by.  Since all but my friend were pregnant (but she works with pregnant women being a pro photographer) we talked babies which is the one thing that a preggo wants to talk about.  So make an 8am appointment, bring a friend, and chat with nice people in the waiting room.  It will make the time go so much faster.

Appointment

I finally got an appointment (look at my previous post...two posts ago if you have no idea what I am talking about) but it isn't until August 2.  Geez..you can't get me in earlier than that????  I can't wait that long...but I am going to have to.

Nursery Tour

I am really antsy to do a nursery tour video...but everyone I see is full of stuff.  I think I am going to wait until after my first shower to do one.  That is sept 2.  I hope I can wait that long.  I might break down and do one earlier.

It happened

Ok, today for the very first time...a stranger at a restaurant asked, "When is your baby due?"  So I just got recognized as being pregnant for the very first time.  It felt weird because I don't feel as if I have changed that much, but apparently I have.

In other preggo news.  I have to get another sono because they could not see what they wanted to see in my 20 week anatomy scan.  The images where too blurry.  So I have to go to a special sono at a different office because they apparently have better equipment.  But because this is something that not everyone has to do, I need a referral.  So I can not call and make the appointment.  They have to do it for me.  My dr. office sent the info because apparently they have to look at the original and agree that their services are needed. BUT, they are taking forever to get back with my dr office and set up an appointment.  Seriously, how long does it take to set up an appointment.  The one lesson that every non-pregnant person needs to know is PREGNANCY IS ONE BIG WAITING GAME and if you are as impatient as I am it is so hard.  Every time I have my monthly appointment I wait in the waiting room for at least an hour.  wait wait wait wait wait.  I live by my phone for a call from my dr with my new sono appointment.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

I had such a relaxing day! I got a pedicure and facial today. The best part is today everyone who got a pedicure got a free bottle of polish AND we got to pick any color! The picture above is the color I picked. However, I think it would look better on finger nails so I picked out a different color for todays pedicure.

And the facial was also very relaxing.

Anniversary

Well this is a couple of days late, but Saturday was my 5 year wedding anniversary!  So happy!  Unfortuently my husband worked the majority of the day outside so I didn't get to be with him very much.  He got home at about 6pm or so and jumped in the shower so we could go out for dinner.  We had such a great dinner.  After dinner I did want to go to the movies, but I never revealed that to him because I knew he worked 10 hours outside in this blazing heat.  So we rented a movie instead and watched at home.  We got "Wanderlust" and "The Vow" both pretty good.

But, while he was at work, my cousin asked me to go shopping with her for her wedding.  So I said yes.  We shopped for hours!  We went lots of places!  Right in the middle of shopping hungar hit me like a mack truck and I told her we had to stop for lunch.  She was hungry too so that was good.  Near the end my feet started to hurt.  When I got home, I just had to put them up.  They really started to hurt.  This was the first time in my pregnancy that I have had sore feet.  My husband gave me a foot massage before we went out to dinner.  I needed it for the pain relief.  On Sunday, my feet still kind of hurts, not as much as Saturday, but definitly some aftermath.  I can't be on my feet that much in one day.  I don't know how I am going to handle teaching this Fall, but I am going to have to.

Nursery

Should I do a final nursery reveal when I am 100% done or should I blog with pics every step of the way?
