Remodel and me-love/hate relationship

We are currently in the middle of a little kitchen remodel....I am itching to post pics, but it is not done yet. I have some 'before' and 'during' pics on my camera, but I am just waiting for the 'after'.

The original plan was new counter top, sink, faucet, and back splash......but we also fixed some cabinets and added under cabinet lighting...so things are taking a little longer than planned. On top of that.....my husband works a side job after work everyday this week....so the time he has to finish the tile back splash is limited or kinda non-existent. (If he plans on doing any sleeping...haha)

Hopefully..soon though

I have a sorta spring break right now.....today I am not doing anything, tomorrow I am having lunch with a friend and then babysitting her two daughters for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours while she has a doctors appointment. Wednesday I work from 11:30-3pm and hopefully Thursday and Friday I can do a little yard work....I was also asked by the company that my hubby works for if maybe I could work one of those days, but that is still up in the air (very rarely I fill in for someone if needed)

Because of the kitchen remodel we have been eating take out for 3 days now and will again tonight. I haven't cooked or baked in a week and I am itching to get back to something....

HOMEMADE Pasta

My husband and I made homemade pasta 100% from scratch on Sunday. We made ravioli's

Now this first picture is actually a picture of the filling, HOWEVER, I totally forgot to take a picture of it right away. I remembered to snap a picture after I already stuffed every ravioli so this is what was left at the end. I invented this...this is what I added: ricotta cheese, mozzerella cheese, garlic salt, italian seasoning, salt and pepper.

My lovely husband kneaded the dough for me (you needed to knead it for 10 minutes) that was the worse part and he did it for me.

This annoys me

I hope I don't make anyone mad by saying this, but...

This has to do with facebook if anyone is one it. Well, everyone on my facebook I know personally through high school, college, or old co-workers so I really don't want to write this on there because I don't want to piss them off, butt....

It really annoys me when my 'friends' use facebook as a way to try to sell things to us (peddle their product if you will) I have tons of friends who sell Mary Kay, Avon, Usbourne books, make little kids hair bows, clothes, singer/guitar players who want gigs, photography, etc. I have lots of high school friends who sell Avon, Mary Kay, etc and every status is them trying to sell products.....it really annoys me. It not like it is once or twice....it is all the time. (Besides the advertising on the right side) I really want facebook to be a place where people don't try to sell me STUFF...I get that enough.

I am sorry if you do it, but this is just my opinion.

Shape-Up or Ship Out

On Thusday I got these:
They are not 'attractive' shoes by any means....but hopefully they will help with my weight-loss....I just got them on Thursday and only had time for a 3o min walk....On Friday afternoon we went to pick out countertops (more on this in a minute) and then out to dinner so I didn't get home until after dark and Saturday (today) it rained all day so I haven't been able to walk yet. Well, Thursday, when I got to try them out I noticed that I felt it in my calves and shins. I was hoping to feel a work-out in my butt and thighs more, but whatever.

Friday night we went and picked out countertops for the kitchen and mudroom and a new sink....they should be installed on this coming Friday...I need to pick out and buy a kitchen faucet this week. I want one of those touch faucets...I will have to see how much they cost. The counter will be a granite counter top.

Today...I went to a baby shower and I totally forgot my camera. Got to see some of my husbands family (the shower was for his sister) that I haven't seen in a while.

I also got caught up on my blog reading.

Ok, whenever I read fiction set in the south.....they sometimes refer to characters as WASP's .....What does WASP stand for? They are usually referring to rich white males.

To-do List

Wow, this week has been going so slow and it is only Tuesday...I really can't believe it! We are starting to finalize getting a new kitchen counter and undermount sink. We will go and order it to be cut as soon as my husband can find some time to go with me and order it. I highly doubt it will be this week because tonight he went golfing with a friend and he is working a side job after work wed-fri and Saturday we have a co-ed baby shower to attend and of course it is closed on Sunday.....so hopefully next week some time. I will probably also have to pick out a sink first since they need to cut it to size.

Hopefully on Sunday we can get out and get some yard work done.....our yard is screaming for attention and our front walk way and back patio needs to be swept off along with a bunch of other things....so Sunday is yard day!





Planning to have some brats on the grill for dinner tonight and then relaxing in front of the TV....I really do watch too much TV!
