I believe there are 2 types of employees in this world: ones that can't have co-workers and ones that can't have a boss. Let me explain what I mean by this. My older brother (I really don't want to get into too lengthy of an explaination on this, but) has made lots of bad decisions in his life. Among them is his work. He always goes from job to job to job and quits, quits, quits them. (However, he still keeps getting hired, he is very charming in the beginning) But, he always quits. There was one time were he wanted my husband's boss to hire him. He called me and ask if my husband could get him hired. I said, "I don't think they are hiring at this time." He then called my husband's boss straight and he did get hired, but I told my husband that he will probably quit soon and I hate for him to look bad because he is his brother in law....well he did quit after two weeks. Anyways, he is really self centered and always thinks he is right. I believe he quits so much because he doesn't like to listen to authority because he thinks he is right...like 'how dare I get chewed out for being 2 hours late for work...I work hard when I am there' so my brother is the type of person who can't have a boss (even though he is the type of person who NEEDS one) He thinks he wants to be his own boss, but he is taking no steps to become that and never will. Well I really don't want this to be about my brother, but that is an example of what I mean.
The other type of person is like me and can't have co-workers. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I am a really good employee. I am ALWAYS on time and never leave early. I am honest and a hard worker. Of all the jobs I have had, I have had great reviews and left in good standing. My of my old bosses is actually a really great friend of mine now. It was actually a job I had at a community college and I worked off a grant. The grant stated that I must be enrolled as a student to have that job, when I went to a four year university I had to leave. We cried that last day and I still have lunch and talk to her now. She was my boss. I never have gotten along with coworkers and I don't know why???? I have tons!!!!!! and tons!!!! of friends outside of jobs, so I know I am a 'friend'. I have never really had any bad experiences just a feeling.
Do you understand what I mean having two different types of employees?
Ok, now to the point of this post:
There was one boss that I did not get along with. We really butted heads and she actually verbally attacked me in front of a large group of people and called me names. Let me share the time she verbally attacked me: (I am going to change the names because their are kids involved ALL NAMES HAVE BEEN CHANGED).
Well I worked at a daycare. I worked with the four year olds. If you know anything about day cares there is a ratio you need to keep. Also age groups can not combine unless is it the first hour after opening or the last one hour before close. Like a four-year-old cannot go into the 2 year old classroom at 11:00 am. It is a law. We also need to always keep a count (if I am asked at anytime of the day I BETTER know exactly how many kids I have....we had a head count sheet that I had to carry) Well this one girl in my class was kinda a spoiled little girl her made up name is Kylie. She has been at this day care since she was an infant. Well most teachers came and went but the teacher in the 2 year old room worked there for a long time....lets call her Marissa. Well one morning Kylie asked me if she could go see Miss Marissa. I said No she could not do that she had to stay in our class. Later that day 11am we had gym time and I was walking my class of 20 kids into the gym. I lead the line. I counted the kids when I let my room and I had 2o kids. Down the stairs through several hallways into the gym-at the gym door I stopped and let the kids walk through the door while I counted. I only had 19 kids. My heart stopped and I started to freak out. I immediately looked for Kylie and she was not there. I called a floating teacher to come watch my class. I then went to Miss Marissa's room and it was empty and then I went to the playground and the 2's class was outside. Marissa was sitting on the picknik table with Kylie on her lap. I called, "Kylie can you come here please?" She did come and I told her that she is not allowed to sneak out of line and go in the twos room. I brought her to the gym and she was in tears because she wanted to see Miss Marissa. She laid on the bleachers and cried. I picked my battle and did not make her play. Well moments later my director (boss) came tearing into the gym. I was on the opposite side of the gym from the door so she had to walk all the way across the gym to get to me. She was pep stepping really fast, red in the face, wagging a finger at me....screaming "How dare you rip a child from Marissa....how dare you.....I gave Kylie permission to see Marissa today" and just screamed at me infront of all my students. I glanced over at Kylie and she stopped crying and was smirking at me. Unfortunately I started to tear up and sorta cry. I had to go to the bathroom to pull myself together. Wouldn't you think she would of told the head 4 year old teacher (me) that she gave Kylie permission to go into the 2's room which is against the law for a 4 to be with a class of 2's. We had bad blood since.
The only time I have ever been written up or in trouble at any job was this job. I saw all the teacher use their cell phones all the time all day long!!! I never really did, except for once. It was nap time and my kids were on their cots asleep. I used my phone to make a hair appt. and my boss walked in...saw...slammed the door (woke one kid up) and then sent another teacher up to watch my class so that I could be yelled at and sign a write up. EVERYONE USED THEIR CELL PHONES FOR PERSONAL USE/CHITCHATTING. I did do something wrong, but I am the only person to get written up for something everyone did.
Well 2 other co teachers from that job are my friends on facebook. They update their facebook page all day long via cell. And when they update their facebook during working hours....my old boss will reply to their status with a comment and lol and :).
Well, obviously they are all on their cell phones during work. This happens everyday for the entire 8 hour shifts. But, I was the one who got written up for my one cell phone useage!

Such a frustrating situation since everyone and their dog uses their phone during work hours when they probably shouldn't. Sorry babe!! Shake it off :)
