Please let me vent a little......ok a lot

I actually just got inspired from someone else's blog for a post.....it is something I have been thinking about for the past two years and something that has been confusing me. I am not sure if the person who gave me the idea wants to be mentioned so I won't just in case, but I am sure she can figure it out since I left her a comment that is similar:

I am a substitute teacher. When I first graduated college I tried to get a teaching job the first two school years out of college. After not getting a job for two years I then decided that I had to get a full time job doing something else outside of my degree so I did. In that time I got engaged and then married. Before we got married I told my husband that I really want to be a stay at home mom and he said he totally supported me in eventually doing so. I was engaged for 14 months before the wedding (planning time) and during this time the job I worked at made me very unhappy to the point where I would be crying on the drive home and sad at night. I really wanted to quit, but because of my wedding and because I lived on my own I really needed the full time money. I think the fact that I had an amazing wedding to look forward and a fiancee that I loved made this time bearable. I even told him I wanted to quit and we talked about it and he said after the wedding and honeymoon I could quit and start subbing. After a few years of marriage and buying a house (which we did 2 months after the wedding) we were going to start trying for a baby and the plan was for me to coast along subbing and then be a stay at home mom at the right time. I did not tell anyone of the plan. Well last August we started trying to have a baby (and followers of my blog know that I stopped trying jan, feb, and march of this year because I didn't want to have a baby in oct, nov, and dec....I have already talked about this) So basically sept, oct, nov, dec '09 and april and may of '10 so that is only 5 months of trying and for someone who was on the pill as long as I was I am not shocked I did not get pregnant in the last part of '09. (we started so late in Aug that I am not even going to count it because I was past my fertile time...that is just the month I stopped taking pills.)

Anyways,

What I am getting at is the fact that I had last summer 100% off and I have this summer 100% off. When people talk to me about my summers I get really rude comments and dirty looks because I have summers off.....these are the comments I get: "Don't you get bored?" "Why don't you find a part-time job in the summer?" "Is your husband OK with that?" "What do you do?" etc etc. My parents are the worst (they are divorced) my mom keeps telling me to get a part time job and my dad keeps sending me job openings. I wish they would stop. In high school I made my own money and never once asked them for money....I have lived on my own since I was 19 and have NEVER asked them for money....NEVER. I have never been late on a payment.....never been late on a bill.....my credit is wonderful......I am talking my bills have 100% been paid on time every time....and I have never borrowed from a friend or family member...I even (well my husband and I) paid for most of our wedding our self (my wedding is the ONE time I had a little money from my parents and that is all)

My friends are upset about it to and make me feel bad. They can't believe I don't work in the summer. I don't want to get a classroom just to quit........

Why do people care and make me feel bad? My husband is ok with it and all our bills are paid. Also my college loans are set up to be a 10 year loan and I am projected (if I keep the over payments I am making now) to be paid off in Oct.....that means only 5 years....I am going to pay off a 10 year loan in 5 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My car was a 5 year loan I paid off in 2.5 years.

None of my friends and family members can say they have never been late or missed a payment and paid off loans so earlier..........but people are so weirded out and upset because I have summers off....

oh and another thing is because of how much my husband makes and my income added to his....if I make much more we will be in a higher tax bracket so we would pay more for taxes.

Why do people care so much and I want the comments and looks to stop!!!

Also, people are not too shy to ask me to pick them up at the airport or have deliveries that need signed delivered to my house or other odds and ends that need to be done in the daytime.

Oh. one more thing. I have had a job since I was 15 earlier if you count babysitting. I worked full time in high school and college and still played varsity sports in high school....many of the friends who have given me grief did not have a job in high school or college and their parents paid their tuition.

My Bro is a Star! (not really )

My Little Brother was on the front cover of today's paper in my city. Front-top-and centered in color. The funniest part is the title reads
"Danger Rising on River"
and then there was a pic of my brother
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The article was really about how we have received so much rain lately that the river is raising and flooding some areas. (there has been flash flood warnings)
I was actually with him that day....I just hopped off the back to go pay for the gas. I am so glad I was not in the pic because I had a life jacket on and and really ugly baseball hat and of course no make-up.
Here is the pic:

Welcome Summer Break

Well I am officially on Summer break now...so excited! I am starting to make some fun plans.
I do have this weekend panned out and it is going to be a busy one.
Friday, my friend and I are going strawberry picking at this local farm. Saturday, I am hosting a SATC 2 party at my house and then we are all going to see the movie of course.
Sunday we have a 30th birthday party to attend.
As of right now, I have no Memorial Day plans. It is possible that my husband will work that day.
I am not sure if I told my blog yet, but this past month I purchased one of those ovulation kits and according to the kit I ovulated like clockwork (by this I mean 14 days before my next anticipated period....my periods come like clockwork also) It was positive for two days exactly. It should be a good sign. I am taking my prenatal vitamins just in case. I also bought a boatload of fruits and veggies at the grocery store. (I really need to kick the sugar though....haven't done that yet)

I decided to start watching LOST. I have officially watched the entire 1st season....I should be starting the 2nd season soon.

Today I also watched "Dear John" I wasn't too impressed....it was ok. I am glad I made the decision to watch it by myself while my husband was at work, because he would of hated it.

What not to sell......

A few friends and I went to a few garage sales today and we came up with a list of....
"Things not to sell at a garage sale":

-used shower loofahs (sp?-those sponge type things that you use in the shower with liquid body wash)
-bras/underwear
-expired food products (I don't care if it is in it's original package...it is expired)
-3/4 empty bottle of lotions
-candles that have been burnt for long periods of time (also IMO any candles that have been burnt at all)
-notebooks that have been written in
-broken glassware (there was this white glass ornate bowl with a handle and the handle was broke clean off)
-books that you price more than what the suggested retail price states on the book to begin with
-I personally don't like nasty looking shoes (shoes is one thing I will always insist on buying new....the one exception might be little baby shoes)

-anybody else have anything to add

On a side note...I bought some "OneADay" prenatal vitamins just in case.....I read that it is recommended that you take prenatal vitamins at least 4 months before you actually try and since we have been trying I thought I better get one that. (Probably should of been taking them for a while now)

On anther side note-My town just started this new entertainment thing that is suppose to model like a "Bourbon Street" type thing....where one street in downtown is shut down Mon-Sat from 6 pm to midnight and restaurants can bring table out on the street and there is live music and artists, etc, etc...the hubby and I ate at one of the restaurants tonight....the weather was so amazing....I could camp out tonight and probably have the best nights sleep....it was so fun.

Crash

Do you want to know one way that your perfectly great day can come to a crashing hault? Logging on to Facebook at 9:30 at night and finding out your cousin who is 7 years younger than you are is pregnant and you are not.

(I am very happy for her.......just wish it was me.......it is weird because I should be first)

Waiting

Why does waiting for the UPS man make the day seem so long?

Has anyone seen that show called "Baggage" on GSN hosted by Jerry Springer? It is hilarious!!! Watch it if you catch it!

I have to get a cap for my broken tooth! It totally sucks and really expensive....glad I have insurance to pay for a little of it. (Wished it paid all of it!) I have never had one before.

Ahh!!!!

My tooth broke today....I have never had that happen before.....the dentist can't see me until tomorrow at 4:00.

It has been a crazy week......well last Friday we decided to splurge and bought a new TV....47inch flat panel LCD....our other TV was about to go out.....the sound was humming and cracking and the picture was getting bad.....well, when it rains it pours...right after my TV went out and we bought another one, my computer gets a virus and I had to take it in to get fixed (expensive week!!!!) I sorta just wanted to get a whole new computer and if it wasn't for the TV I would of....we are planning on get a new laptop (we will just have two computers) right we school starts up again in the Fall and my income will come again (I get the whole summer off)

Any suggestions on Laptops? I actually have one in mind, but I want to hear opinions before I reveal that....because I am sure it will be a post in its own when the time comes.

Dog Tags

One fun thing about having a brother for a Marine is that he makes real 'dog tags' for my dog's collar......he types really funny things into them. They always have my name, number, and address, but they also have things like 'occupation: guard dog' or something like that (my dog is so not a guard dog unless he can snuggle you to death?) The tag always jiggles right also side of his rabies tag....so I tell him that it is just like putting a bell around his neck..poor guy-he can never be sneaky!
