Update

Ok, I have to do a bullet point post for all the little updates.  With one big horrible update at the end.

*baby is great! He sleeps beautifully and he only cries if he needs something.  If he cries it is food, diaper, or pacifer and then he is done crying.  The only thing with him is he is not gaining the weight he should.  I don't think I am producing enough breastmilk.  If he is not up to his birth weight by Friday I am suppose to supplement formula for two feedings a day.  I really don't want to do this...I don't want to start with formula, but he needs the weight gain for brain development.  So no weight gain by Friday equals 2 feedings a day with formula :(

*According to tracking...I should be receiving my llbean package UPS today!  Here is what I ordered:

I got the large one with red trim and my name embroidered on it.

*I hate waiting on UPS...I stare out the window all the time.

*I just pulled reese puff muffins out of the oven...I can't can't wait for them to cool a little so I can eat them!

*Thanksgiving is next week!  What????

*Costco opened today.  I got my membership last week.  It will probably be a zoo so I will wait until after Thanksgiving to go.

*Ok and finally something pretty bad happened last week.  My dad came over to visit with the baby.  As we were sitting in the living room I hear a loud crash from downstairs.  The crashing sound didn't stop.  I went to see what it was...it was my 95 lb dog seizuring on the basement floor!  (we leave the basement door open all day...my dog roams around, but he spends most of his time in the basement...he loves it down there)  He kept seizuring and seizuring.  All four legs were stiff and his face was distorted and he was shaking.  It lasted awhile.  It finally slowed down, but not all the way , and he tried to walk up the stairs to us.  He made it 3 stairs and then fell off the stairs sideways.  He got back up, but was shaky and walked upstairs and seized on my kitchen floor again.  He then walked to the door and we left him out.  He peed outside and then seized again.  My dad was trying to pick him up to put him in the truck to go to the vets but he has a bad back and I am on a 10lb weight limit for my c-section.  He kept trying but it was hard with 95lbs of dead weight that was shaky.  He had to set him down once to get a better hold and the dog started walking and then fell over on his side.  He then was able to pick him up and put him in the truck and he was taken to the vets....I called my husband and had just gotten off of work so he went to the vets so my dad could come back to my house.  The dog had one more seizure at the vets.  He had blood drawn and everything was normal with that??? They have no idea why this happened.  He is now on anti-seizure medicine for the rest of his life!!!!  It is crazy expensive too!  The worst thing is I don't know why it happened?  We also have 3 viles of medicine for instant relief for a seizure, but they are only good untl the 23rd.  This was so scary.  What would I of done if my dad wasn't here?

Also, we have a friend who has a yellow lab and he is also on anti-seizure medicine, but he still has a seizure once a year or so anyways??????????????????????????

So scary!

 Proud Uncle #1
 Proud Uncle #2

Ok...so I went into the dr on Monday October 15...my blood pressure was a little high...I then came back on that Wednesday for a pre-scheduled NST..again my pressure was high.  It was high enough they wanted to do a 24hr urine test and labs...I went back on Thursday (24hrs) to turn the urine in and I was then put on bed rest.  I was on bed rest from Thursday until Monday which was my next dr appointment.  (October 22nd) I went to my regular appointment and my pressure was even higher. I was then sent immediately to a specialist.  I drove straight to the specialist and he sent me straight to the hospital.  He told me I had to be monitored with a possibility of delivery if my pressure didn't go down.  I seriously thought I would just go to the hospital to be monitored and sent home so I only called my husband.

So I arrived at the hospital at 2pm on Monday the 22nd.  Shortly after that I found out I had to deliver...we were trying the natural route.  I was not dilated at all so I got medicine to get soft and started to dilate.  The plan for after that was to induced.  BUT, as time moved on, I got worse and worse.  I had seizure pads on my bed and lots of different meds in my IV.  At about 2 in the morning I got really bad high blood pressure that my doctor was called in.  We then made the decision for a c-section.  I had to have my epidural laying down because they won't let me even sit up for that.  I was then rushed to the or and my baby was born at 2:49am.  The entire time..he was fine...I was the issue.

I then went to recovery and then back to my LD room.  After awhile, I got my first post partum room.  There I found out that they were not sure when I would be able to go home.  I was first placed in a double room but without a room mate.  A couple of days later another new mother was going to be moved into that room so I then went to a single room.  I had too because of my condition...I was suppose to stay calm and I was monitored ALOT.  I ended up staying in the hospital until Sunday October 28th.

My baby was good the whole time.  The only thing with him is he lost 11% of his birth weight, then maintained, and now VERY slowly is gaining it back.  He doesn't like to eat too much and he loves to sleep.  In my next post I will talk about my first week home.

Pregnancy Update

Well, I am 37 weeks and 2 days!  This is getting real folks (even though I don't feel like it is...it still feels as if I am pretending)

As of yesterday at 10am I am on partial bed rest due to high blood pressure and a little protein in my urine.  I have not been diagnosed with anything yet, waiting on some lab results.  However, I feel great.  I have no pain, I am not tired, I couldn't feel better!

I am going to give a few words of advice I that I thought of during this pregnancy.

*this might be a no brainer-but don't procrastinate.  I am 2 weeks and 5 days until d-day (maybe earlier) and I am all prepared and it feels good.  His room is done, he has clothes, bags packed, etc, etc and they have been done for awhile.  I really don't have anything to do and I am so happy about that.

*if you think you might buy a pregnancy pillow to sleep buy it early.  They are so expensive so you might as well get some use out of it.  I bought the boppy brand bean shaped pillow and I have had it since like June I think and I use it every night!  I think I paid close to $50 or $60 dollars for it...(I did have a 20% coupon) I really don't remember because it has been so long. I have had several friends buy pregnancy pillow more expensive then mine in like their 8th or 9th month.  Just buy it early if you think you will get it.

*Pamper yourself-If you can start maternity leave early or if you plan to quit anyways...quit early.  I quit 4 weeks early.  I did that for myself and I also have a zillion dr. appointments so I would have to take several days off each week anyways (I have 2 nst tests and 1 dr appointment per week...I also had lab appointments, one last sono...and I am squeezing in a dentist appointment) (most people probably wouldn't have so many).  But get a pedicure, shop, have lunch with friends, really anything...this is your last chance to be alone.

*Don't buy the belly butter...it is so greasy!  I still have so much left because I hate to be all greasy and it gets on your clothes or sheets.  I haven't tried the lotion.  (however the butter seems to work alright, but you will probably get a few stretch marks anyways...so if you don't mind the greasyness???)

*This one is in honor of two friends and me (for the 3 years it took me to get pregnant)-Don't complain!  Complaining doesn't do anyone any good.  When I was trying to get pregnant and knew I had no money for adoption or treatments every time a preggo said "I am so big" "gross..my stretch marks" "I look like a whale" etc etc etc etc...It killed me inside.  I have close friends who have been trying for 10plus years and I know they would kill to be 'as big as a whale'.  You are lucky to be pregnant!  Don't take it for granted...your fertility is precious! You never know what struggles the person you are talking to has.

*buy yourself cute maternity clothes.  Don't live in your husband's sweats!  You will feel better.  You deserve it!  My cousin lived in her husband's clothes and when she was done being pregnant she said she wished she would have had nice clothes.  I took her advice and invested in maternity clothes.  I will wear them again in my next pregnancy (lets hope...it took 3 years for this one)

*if you plan on being pregnant again...buy the big stuff in gender neutral.  My pack and play, stroller, swing, etc could be used for a girl too.  (why buy pink and then have to re-buy everything in blue???)

*second hand shopping- In my opinion only!!!!!!!!!!!-I choose to only buy second hand anything I could wash in hot soapy water or wipe down with a Clorox wipe.
       -clothes are fine
-wooden or plastic toys (plastic toys can also be soaked in a sink of hot water and bleach...day cares do this...rinse...and air dry)
-books are OK?? (they will go in mouth though)

anything cloth that can't be washed is gross....for example-I wouldn't get a second hand boppy (thick pillow)  I just imagine them swimming in germs.

Diaper/Hospital Bag

The one where I cried and got my way..

But I didn't mean to........

Ok, so this is not my prouder moment of handling things in an adult way.

I got a nursing tank top from Motherhood Maternity.  It is just black with spaghetti straps with the clip down sides.  I would post a pic, but it seriously is just a blank spaghetti strap nursing tank top.  I actually don't do well with saving receipts (I know I know I should) but I didn't think I ever was going to return this.  Who out there keeps all receipts all the time?  Do they clutter your purse, car, desk?  Good for you if you do!  Also, I cut the tags off and threw them away when I washed the tank top.

So I washed said tank top.  When I was putting away clean laundry I wanted to hang up tank top and noticed that the strap was broke (brand new shirt) it came unsewn....can't wear tank top with one strap.  So last night I called Motherhood Maternity and told them the situation.  I did not want my money back....I wanted the same top just with a working strap....I told them I did not have the receipt and the tags where gone.  I told them everything on the phone and got names of the people I talked to in order to not waste a trip driving there just to be turned down.  I talked to a manager and she said to come in today before 5:30 to exchange it.

So today at 1:00 I went there.  Now this is not a close drive.  It is really out of my way.  When I got there and spoke to the same manager I spoke with last night..she did not want to exchange it for me.  She said I needed the receipt.  I told her last night I didn't not have it.  She said she couldn't do anything for me...etc etc etc.....now here is what happened next  (also line of people behind me)

I did not want to and I did not mean to...but my body took over and slightly cried...not sobs...just red around the eyes and a frog in my throat and water in my eyes.  You could tell I was slightly crying.  My body just took over because....

-I called last night for the purpose of this not happening!!!!
-It is a cheap little tank top that they sell for $22...if you sell a crappy tank top for $22 you need to stand behind your product.
-It is obviously new because I am still pregnant and not nursing yet...I am just getting prepared so I don't have to shop with an infant
-In my city there are hardly any maternity shops...I have Motherhood Maternity, Old Navy which in my store has like 2 small racks and that is it, and Gordmans which again has 2 small racks and that is it.  In the past 8 months...I have easily dropped $300 or more at this Motherhood Maternity Store..I have been there 3 times and bought $100 plus every time.  I just wanted a working tank top and for how much I spent this summer it just made me sick
-Also..their products have "Motherhood Maternity" printed on the inside label of all their clothes...the top came from them
-I drove all the way there just for this exchange of a $22 spaghetti strap tank top
-(repeating) called last night to avoid this
-It just made me so mad because I am tried of customer services saying one thing and them when you need them doing something else....I didn't want my money back....I WANTED A WORKING TANK TOP!

But she kept saying there is nothing she could do for me...I asked for her boss and she said she was the only manager and there is no one she could talk to.

So I stood there crying with people behind me...obviously pissed off.  She typed and typed on her computer saying she was 'trying different things'

Finally she said, "I will just damage this one out and let you exchange it"

Ok....that is what I have been trying to do all along!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, not a proud moment for me....but I was just so frustrated....my body took over.  I don't feel bad about it....your brand new product (which..in my opinion is over priced in the first place, but you corner the market here in my city) broke...I just wanted an exchange...your store named is literally printed inside the shirt.

Was I wrong in this?

I am basically done working.  The reason I said basically is because I have 2 pre-scheduled days that I am going to fulfill, but I am not taking on any more jobs.  There really is no reason for this expect I want to. :) So here's to early start maternity leave!
