Hello and Welcome to my blog!  I blog under "Life of a Wife".

This is a random blog.  I really blog about anything and everything.

Here are a few things about me:
I live in the Midwest.
I am a substitute teacher.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 4 1/2 years but we have been together for 10 years.
I have a wonderful furbaby-a yellow lab named Huckleberry.  His full name is "I'm Your Huckleberry" and there are three reasons why I named him that.  I will tell you if you ask. 
I am a big scrapbooker and card maker.
I am really good at cooking a baking.
The best things I cook are: lasagna and roast.  I would put my lasagna and roast up against anyone. 
The best thing I bake:  I am pretty successful at almost anything I bake.  I really don't mean for this to sound so conceded.  I know it does.  I would be honest with you if I didn't.  I only work part time so I have lots of practice.
My favorite TV shows are:Mad Men, Teen Mom, Pan Am, The Middle, Modern Family, The Office, Parks and Rec, American Pickers (I have meet Danielle and her sister was once my waitress), Any of the "Real Housewives" Series.
I love anything vintage...I do a lot of antiquing.
My screen saver at the moment is Ryan Gosling.
I have done many of the crafts that I have pinned on Pinterest. 
My favorite ice cream is Mint.

I started blogging for two reasons.

First, I was trying to get pregnant so I was hoping to get pregnant and meet other moms....however....it turns out I can't get pregnant, so that plan went out the window.

Second, since I only work part time and all my friends are having babies....they have less time to socialize with me...which I understand....so I started blogging as a way to socialize with other women close to my age about day to day things.  I really wish they could come over and sit on my back porch and have a glass of ice tea...but that would require a plane ticket :) (My stepfather is a pilot for American Airlines...so I could get you a discount...just joking :)  (not about my stepfather being a pilot, but about excepting someone to fly to see me.)

I have kept this blog secret from my family and friends in my 'real life' I guess I can say.  This really is a place that I sometimes vent....it is a 'me' place.  I want comments and opinions from people who don't know my day-to-day.

I have two brothers...so I have never had that sisterly bond. 

However, my brothers are some of my best friends...we are really close.
